Great trails
Charles Towne LandingHistory is before you as you take the trails of CharlesTowne Landing - the original settlement before Charleston. Many signs to read and learn. This park covers history from 1670 to almost present day. There is ongoing excavation that you are able to watch in progress and a replica ship that would go along the river. I highly recommend this. Dogs are not allowed in the animal area or in the museum.
A very nice scenic hike!
Stono River County ParkThe Stono River County Park is not a long hike but nicely set up. The entrance has regular bathrooms, not porta potties. Then the drinking fountain has a dog fountain too! Entrance fee is $1.00- great deal. We started walking on asphalt then to a nice long boardwalk then gravel around the island. It’s a little over a mile long but really enjoyable. We were the only out of state car there. Another positive is we were only a half mile from the trail head of the West Ashley Greenway.
Great food
Page's Okra GrillOkra Grill never disappoints! We were welcomed dog and all. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding and great twists on southern cooking: a chicken and waffles BLT. a a pimento cheese BLT with fried green tomatoes. Our appetizer Redneck Spring Rolls: pimento cheese and pork bbq with a mustard dipping sauce. The staff loved on Oliver. Highly recommended!
The crew loves dogs
Charleston Water TaxiMy husband and I brought our havanese Oliver with his rolling carrier. We were treated great and Oliver loved watching the dolphins. $12.00 per person for all day riding - pets free!
