My new favorite hotel!
Hotel McCoy - Art Coffee Beer WineStopped here for the night on my way back to Los Angeles, and had a blast! The concierge told me the entire hotel was basically a bar. They gave me a free drink token, and I enjoyed a nice beer by the pool with my dog. There was a singer/songwriter performing while I was there so that was nice way to relax after being on the road all day. There are a lot of cool murals all around the premises and it's fun to walk around (with your drink) and check them all out! They also give you tips on good local food, sights, and things to do. The room was cozy as well, with a nice comfortable bed.
Cozy apartment style rooms - dogs welcome in most rooms
The Lincoln MarfaStayed here a night and had a great time. Our room was basically a nice sized studio apartment with a full kitchen. The bed was super comfortable and there's a nice courtyard area to sit outside with your dog. There was a dog staying in the room next to us, and she and my dog became instant friends!
Nice dog friendly patio
The Water StopCame here with the pup for a beer on a Thursday night. They have a nice, spacious patio with a heater. They were very friendly and brought him some water.
Great Mexican food w/ dog friendly patio
El Jalisco Mexican RestaurantWe came here because the Branch Neighborhood Grill doesn't allow dogs on their patio. Turned out to be a great decision. The food was great... I had some of the best cheese enchiladas I had had in a long time!
Dog Friendly... and chicken friendly
Richter's Antler CafeThey have a big patio and welcome dogs. However, they do have a number of chickens roaming the patio, so make sure to keep your dog on a short leash! Great southern staples here - my Chicken Fried Steak was fantastic. However, they don't have much in the way of vegetarian food (being Texas, the green beans had bacon).
Great place to get a drink and some grub with your dog
Siempre MarfaThey have a spacious patio and very dog friendly. The menu is Mexican inspired, and they have a nice selection of cocktails and beer.
Fun off the beaten path place to stop for lunch
Barbi's PlaceIf you're looking for a change from fast food and gas station stops, this is a welcome change of pace. This is a one woman operation out of a little food trailer. There's a little dog friendly covered patio area, and each table has a book and/or activities on the table to entertain you while you wait for your food.
Dogs welcome at table next to the bar
Bar Saint GeorgeThis is the bar inside the Hotel St. George. Dogs technically aren't allowed in the bar area, but there's a long table between the bar and the lobby, and the hostess said we could sit there and eat and drink. The food is good, but pricey. The staff was very friendly and really seemed to love dogs.
Nice patio with good food and friendly staff
Clasico Kitchen BarStopped here for lunch as I was passing through town. They have a nice big outdoor patio and they brought my dog water. The staff are big dog lovers and every few minutes one of them would come out to say hi to him. When I was leaving, my waiter asked if he could take a picture of my dog! The food was good, too. Had a fantastic Milanesa torta! I will definitely come again next time I'm passing through.
Great breakfast, and very welcoming to dogs!
Buns N' Roses - Cafe’ and GiftsThis was the only real breakfast spot opened both times I've passed through town. Last time I came, my waitress brought my dog a big biscuit dipped in a pool of peanut butter. Of course, my dog being the weirdo he is, is the only dog alive that doesn't like peanut better so he just ate around it. When she realized he doesn't like peanut butter she brought him some more biscuits sans peanut butter. Another waitress snuck him some bacon, as well. He doesn't know how lucky he is to get free bacon - I always have to pay extra! The food here is great, too - Can't go wrong with the cheese grits!
Very dog friendly!
Krause's CafeGreat German style beer hall/garden. They allow dogs inside the beer hall as well as outside in the courtyard. Note that they do have live music outside so if your dog doesn't do well with loud music, consider sitting inside.
Great hang out spot
Gruene GroveThey have a big outdoor courtyard with live music. They have a bar area, a trailer selling sausages, and an ice cream parlor. It's a great way to spend the afternoon with the dog(s).
