Great location, beautiful views, friendly staff

Sandman Suites Vancouver on Davie

This is my go-to hotel in Vancouver. I appreciate the central location on Davie, with easy walks to the beach, shops, restaurants, and bars. Each room has a kitchen with basic kitchen supplies to cook meals. It is especially nice to have the kitchen for breakfast. The rooms don't have the most up-to-date furnishing, but they do a nice job keeping the place clean. Rooms have balconies, which can be nice for fresh air. Ocean rooms are my favorite because the views are so incredible.

It is helpful to let the hotel know you are bringing a dog before your arrival so they can place you in an appropriate room. They do charge a fee, unless the dog is a support animal. It is an urban environment, but a block or two away are quieter streets that dogs will enjoy for walks, especially the beach down the hill. Stanley Park is a short drive or longer walk and is one of the most beautiful spots in the city. Vancouver is very popular in the summer, especially for Canadian tourists, so prices increase. But if you go in the late fall or winter, prices are very reasonable, and the city is just as delightful.

Best spot for doggies

Norm's Kitchen & Bar

This is one of a handful of places you can bring your dogs inside. They have a dog menu & human menu, and both are delicious. Staff are friendly & care for both humans and animals. I’m grateful this place exists and look forward to returning soon.
