Hidden Gem!
Kenilworth Park and Aquatic GardensWe felt kind of deceived when we pulled into the parking lot because it doesn’t look like it is going to be anything special. Follow the trail a little less than 1/4 mile from the lot. We came around 2:30 and the park was closing at 4pm but it was plenty of time for a quick walk and sit to enjoy the scenery. Did not disappoint! I would love to see longer hours and better accessibility on the main path for those with disabilities would make this a 5 star for sure.
So nice we did it TWICE
DC GhostsWe came to stay in DC for a week and did the walk with Jennifer the first time for the hour long walk. we had so much fun that we did it two nights later with our son joining us. Not only were they accommodating to our dog but my husbands scooter making it a very nice experience for us. Very nice, flexible and entertaining.
So glad we found this place
Red Bear Brewing Cothe patio was a nice place to grab a bite to eat and have a brew with our pup. really great food. a little more accessible for those who have disabilities and it’s a 5 star!
The rules are grey
Lincoln MemorialThere are signs posted that dogs are allowed leashed in certain areas and not in others. Still it seems like people were doing whatever they pleased and as long as you were well behaved and nobody cared then so be it. I carried my dog up the exterior stairs and as long as we didn’t enter the interior of the monument it didn’t appear as though we were breaking any rules.
No food no service
Wunder Gartenskip this one. we even made a reservation and they were out of everything. only a good place to sit in the shade and drink
