Good food; dog friendly
Fait la Force BrewingLarge covered patio; lots if seating. Cool vibe. Good food.
An unexpected gem in the hills!
Hartwood Restaurant & Whispers PubBreweries and burger joints are great for dogs, but they are a dime a dozen and eating pub grub gets a little repetitive. So it was a pleasure to find a fancier restaurant that welcomed our dog. The menu is upscale (think duck, scallops, lamb burgers, asparagus) but the vibe is relaxed. The staff was very friendly to humans and dogs. Recommended!
Lots of outdoor seating
Strange Roots Experimental AlesPlenty of space outside for you and your pooch. Some covered, some not. Friendly staff.
Big outdoor area for people and pets
Southern Tier Brewing CompanyNorth Shore is a very busy area, so expectit to be bustling with activity. But even between, the many Pirates fans, tourists, families, and being adjacent to a semi-busy road, it still felt very relaxed and fun. Plenty of space in between tables. Staff is very friendly toward dogs. Highly recommend the pierogis for humans.
Fun and funky vibe!
Biddle's EscapeMaybe a dozen or so dog-friendly different seating areas on the patio and 3 table on the front sidewalk. Cool decor. Good coffee.
Lots of outdoor seating
Black Star Co-OpPlenty of picnic tables both in the sun and on a covered porch. A good variety of beers and bar food. The staff is dog friendly.
Lots of outdoor seating
Draught House PubAn Austin classic. Lots of Draught House beer options and some guest taps. Very casual. Lots of outdoor seating, some fully covered. Usually has a food truck which has great French Fries. Small parking lot, but you are allowed to park in the adjacent doctor's lot AFTER 6 p.m. (check signs for updated hours).
Great food, outdoor seating
The Original Marini's Empanada HouseGreat made to order empanadas. We sat on the patio with our dog. Very friendly staff.
Beautiful; lots of shade paths
Houston Arboretum & Nature CenterThis was a great find! The facility is free, but parking is $5. But it's well worth it. Lovely well-maintained grounds with lots of shade for you and your dog to beat the heat (as much as you an in Texas). We went in April, so I'm not sure what the bug situation is during the summer, but there are lots of water areas and woods, so probably should bring repellant. Some wildlife: frogs, turtles, and water snakes. A couple of lovely ponds with and wooden boardwalks. Great place for families and dogs.
Lovely outdoor area
Saint Arnold Brewing Companymost of the patio is covered and the tables are well spaced out. nice view of the skyline.
Great Burgers; Large outdoor area
Rodeo GoatDeluxe burgers. Kid and dog friendly. Maybe too kid friendly as there were kids running all around the place unattended throwing things in and at the koi pond until I gave them the stink-eye. Server brought our dog water. Parts of the patio had shade umbrellas and canopies, though I don't know if they would offer any protection from rain. Parking in this area is tough on a Saturdays. $10 parking lots or street parking. We found a spot one blocks over, but we just lucked into that as someone was leaving.. Overall, a solid meal in a thriving area but some planning might be required.
Lovely cafe with covered patio
Hobbit CafeSo many dog-friendly patios just have bistro tables with sun umbrellas which isn't helpful when it's raining. So I appreciate that Hobbit Cafe's patio is fully covered. It's a lovely little cafe with trees in and around the patio. Wide variety of foods and drinks.
Full covered patio, delicious food
Postino - HeightsSo many dog-friendly patios just have bistro tables with sun umbrellas which isn't helpful when it's raining. So I appreciate that Postino's patio is fully covered. Also, so many dog-friendly restaurants serve only pub-grub. So it was nice to have fancy offerings. And the food was fantastic. I recommend the Shrimp Scampi and the Caramel Ice Cream Sundae. And the Brussel Sprout Salad was outstanding with lots of toppings.
Big park. Alligators, birds, and wildlife.
Brazos Bend State ParkGreat park with a lots of water birds and trails. As with most Texas State parks, Brazos Bend allows leashed dogs in the outdoor areas and on the trails. Dogs are not allowed in the visitor center or other buildings. Be aware there are alligators in some areas so keep your doggie on a short leash.
Pet friendly
Baymont by Wyndham Houston/WestchaseThe hotel is pet friendly. My understanding that quiet, crated dogs can be left unattended in rooms, though I didn't exercise this option and didn't ask the desk to confirm. There are a few grassy places around the perimeter for bathroom breaks. Free parking, but not gated. The hotel itself is a bit run down (stained carpets, nicked and torn furniture) but I've seen worse. Still the price is right, the staff is friendly, and it's conveniently located for our needs. It is located right next to a busy freeway, but is far enough away that I wasn't bothered by any noise. I'd stay again, but might shop around for alternatives first.
Huge place; dog friendly
8th Wonder Brewery & DistilleryDog friendly, inside and out. Solid beer. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, including some outside spots that are fully covered in case it rains. I was told that they have a parking lot, but we had already parked on the street so I can't confirm that. If they don't or if it's full, be aware the parking in this area is tough on a Saturdays. $10 parking lots or street parking. We found a spot one blocks over, but we just lucked into that as someone was leaving. It's still worth it, but this is a thriving area so a little patience will be required to navigate the neighborhood if you are driving there.
Great beer, dog friendly
True Anomaly BrewingThe beer is outstanding. Truly. Dog friendly, inside and out. No food, but you can bring your own and there are several options within a block or two, including Rodeo Goat right across the street. Parking in this area is tough on a Saturdays. They have a lot, but it is small so don't count on it. $10 parking lots or street parking. We found a spot one blocks over, but we just lucked into that as someone was leaving.. Overall, a choice for you and your pup in a thriving area. It requires a little extra effort for parking, but it's worth it.
Dog Friendly and Great Food.
Old Sabinal Brewery & BiergartenThe owners are very dog friendly! Lulu was provided a doggie treat bag upon arrival. For humans, there is a wide variety of Belgium style beers and other libations as well as a good assortment of food offerings. The Brie and Butter stuffed pretzel lured us back for a second visit over the weekend. Highly recommended.
Nice location
Pint & Plow Brewing CompanyDogs allowed on patio seating. Good selection of foods and drinks.
