people don’t watch their dogs always on phone cigarette butts all over the ground people leave their trash everywhere I could go on and on leave gate open not shut it on way out. dog [waste] everywhere people they are just ignorant! Take the trail, so much better and safer for your dog or dogs!
- AudraOct 23, 2022Great trails! Not so great dog park
Benson’s is one of our favorites! Endless gorgeous trails that are full of fun attractions (it’s a former zoo so there’s a cage, giant shoe house, etc). We have been a few times and always find a new place to explore. The dog park isn’t the greatest, particularly the small dog area. It’s small, slanted on a hill, and has gravel breaking apart, which makes it feel unsafe. The big dog area is a lot better but still has some gravel. With my pup in between the small and big dog area, it’s a little inconvenient to not have the choice. Highly recommend for the trails!

Two fenced areas. One is for small dogs only and is pretty awful - undersized, sloped, and on deteriorating asphalt that's uneven and hazardous. I don't known who thought the small dog area was a good idea - it needs to be redone to be useable. What a shame. The all / large dog area is much bigger, slightly less sloped, but also contains some of the deteriorating asphalt. I wouldn't say it's much better, but even in this condition it's better than many dog parks in NH. NH dog parks in general are few and far between and typically is shameful conditions. Do better, New Hampshire. Also, fyi no water or restrooms in immediate area (but maybe in the other side of the park?). Ample parking. Some shade. Some agility equipment. Did not walk trails.

My dog and I have visited this park a few times last year. I love using the outside of the dog park as a training opportunity. The trails are a mixture of paved and dirt. There are also nice grassy areas, and a playground.
- AmandaMay 5, 2022Clean park, great space and plenty of objects to play with!
My big lazy girl loves this place! They have lots of room for her to play and laze around when she’s tuckered out. There’s lots of toys to choose from, a hose for fresh water, utilities to help pick up after your fur babies and plenty of places to sit and watch your furry friend have the time of their life! HIGHLY recommend to ANYONE with a dog!

Bensons Park is absolutely beautiful, clean and easy to walk around. Love the way the original attractions from the animal park are highlighted and they even restored the “Shoe” I remembered from my childhood. Great place to walk a dog on a leash. Would be a great place to bring kids and a dog since there is a really nice playground and trails are very well kept.

Our dog loves this park. Good fenced in dog area she can run her tiny heart out in and meet all her doggy friends. Might get muddy or dusty. It’s very nice. There’s also a good playground for kids. And some good trails for on leash walking. Big park, lots of trees. Good for walking.

Benson's Park is a beautiful place to take your children and your pets. There are a number of trails to walk or hike or simply take a stroll. I take my dog for walks through the trails and then enjoy a nice picnic in the park. I STRONGLY recommend avoiding the dog park at Benson's. It is tempting but not clean.

I take my 2 fur kids (boxer dogs) for walks and spend a little time at the park on wkends with them. Hoping the Dog Park opens soon. Plenty to do even if you don't have any pets.
