Conway Scenic Railroad

With several dog-friendly trip options to choose from, Conway Scenic Railroad has a trip to suit everyone. See the beautiful New Hampshire scenery aboard the Valley Train or the Mountaineer to the Notch Train. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join passengers in Coach cars on both trains at no charge. On the Valley Train, you’ll enjoy an old-fashioned railroading experience as you journey on historic rail routes in vintage passenger cars from a 1874 train station in North Conway Village to Conway or Bartlett and back again. On the Mountaineer to the Notch Train, you’ll travel on what was once the Maine Central Railroad’s famed Mountain Division line, on tracks that were laid in the 1870s. Enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as you travel through spectacular Crawford Notch – past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge – enroute to Crawford Depot and Fabyan station. So Fun!

Took a ride with our 9yr old beagle- very nice and fun. The staff especially loved seeing dogs on the train! There were three others that day as well- ranging in sizes. Beautiful in the fall!

    Fun for the pup

We rode in the open car with our pup (20 months) and she was great. The staff was friendly and she got her own tickets (no charge for dogs). We took the short trip - not that scenic but a perfect length for her first time. They stop for about 10 minutes to turn the loco around and that gave our pup some time to take a quick walk.

    So Fun!

We have visited North Conway many times before and have never had the chance to ride the railway. After finding out that they are dog friendly (coach trains only), there was nothing stopping us. We did the short 55 min ride bc we did not know how our pup would react but she was great! A fun activity for the family when visiting town.

    Best day!

We had a fantastic time riding the train with Toby and Mollie. They looked out the windows and smiled the entire ride. The conductor was super nice to them and made a point to talk to them and give them a pet or two. I would definitely recommend .
