- KateMay 12, 2024So dog friendly!
We visited with our three year old lab in May and would highly recommend a trip around this time! The weather was perfect and nothing was crowded. We did the Dune Ridge Hike (skill: easy, just a few steep inclines), Great Marsh Trail (skill: easy, trail can be muddy), and Central Ave Beach (skill: easy — you can walk on pavement the whole way or take stairs to shorten the distance). Our dog had a GREAT time and we would gladly go again. Bring towels in case of mud and tweezers in case of ticks.
- ChelseaMay 24, 2023Amazing!!!
my dog had THE BEST time here! I did too because parking was easy (with bathrooms and water station in lot!) and it was a quick walk down to the beach! saw quite a few other dogs! first tried west beach (only open to dogs during pre-season, once life guards start working for the summer NO dogs allowed here) but parking lot was closed off and it’s off of a private neighborhood so no where to park 😕 checked back here and followed recommendations to Kemil beach and was beyond thrilled! so worth the $25 park pass (good for 7 days)
- ChloeCandyJul 18, 2022Awesome family beach!
We went to Kemil beach with our pitbull and bulldog. There were lots of other dogs there and people with families! Our dogs splashed around on the sandbars and relaxed in the sand with us! They dug in the sand and played in it. We will definitely come back!

Our handicapable pupper enjoyed digging in the sand on West Beach. Even though it's considered the busy season, there was plenty of space so it didn't feel crowded. The dunes were a beautiful sight and had a nice time hiking through the marsh. The trails could be better marked but thankfully they aren't too hard to follow as long as you have a map.
- ElizaSep 7, 2020Kemil Beach & Tolleston Dunes
The beach has lots of space, not too crowded (w/dogs or people!), & the bathrooms were super clean - the Tolleston trail is a 2 or 3 mile loop through some beautiful woods, not exactly dunes & not too strenuous, barely ran into anyone! Great day trip with the pup & parents.
- AlexisAug 7, 2019Plenty of spots to check out
We hiked the Tullenston (sp?) Dunes trail. Beautiful, tough, and not very popular which is nice if your dog is a little skittish like ours. Also hiked and picknicked at West Beach. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach but places to hike around it with nice views
- FredMore than a year agoGreat Dog Friendly Kemil Beach
Took our Golden retriever to Kemil beach in Beverly Shores. Get there before noon as the parking lot is small and fills up fast. Lots of dogs and dog friendly people.
- CindyMore than a year agodoggie heaven
Dogs can be on any beach from Kemil Beach east. There is a bigger parking lot a block down from Kemil Beach. There are smaller parking spots as you head east,
