Cozy spot but loud A/C unit and thin walls
SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western BuckhannonNice little place to stay before our trek back home. There aren't many places immediately around to eat but about 10 minutes drive there are plenty of options. The room was small but efficient use of space. It seemed like this is a hot spot for a lot of workers that travel so there was a lot of commotion very early in the morning and you can hear everything upstairs and in the hallways. Our A/C unit also kept turning on and sounding like an aircraft taking off. But the bathroom and room was all very clean and comfy and Wifi was very reliable. They were very accommodating for our fur baby, allowing us to eat in their dining area with her.
Not much to do for a handicapable pup
Blennerhassett Island State ParkThis was a very dog friendly site. Everyone loved our little girl and the island had very nice scenery. The biggest problem is there really isn't much to do if you don't take the mansion tour or wagon ride, which dogs aren't allowed. We did a self-guided tour of all the spots on the island and was done in less than an hour.
Comfy room, could do with better service
Rodeway InnFor the price, our king sized bed was very nice and the room was very spacious. Wifi worked well. We were placed in the back where our pup could leave easily go to the bathroom. The front desk service was rude. The sign said, "Please check in by the phone" which we didn't realize meant pick up the phone to call for service so we waited (which we didn't mind). When the lady came out, she essentially berated us for not understanding that we were supposed to use the phone to call her. She was super unhelpful the entire time we were there. I called ahead of time to ask if we can check in and she said yes but when we got there, she said she didn't realize we had a dog so the room wasn't ready yet even though I didn't tell her I had a dog so clearly it was in the system that we were traveling with a dog. When we had accidentally left a valuable in the room after check out, I called to ask if she could check for us and she said we can go check ourselves since housekeeping was cleaning it at the moment.
Beautiful little apartment away from home
Sonesta ES Suites Cleveland AirportSuch a gem to have found to stay at close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park! We really liked how there was a full kitchen with a little table to actually eat take out if we wanted. The pool was great after a long day of hiking. Front desk service was very nice. The wifi didn't work in our room most likely because we were at the end and it just didn't reach. We had some issues with our toilet but they were very quick to fix it.
Loved the stay
Comfort Suites Parkersburg SouthGreat place for pups and their owners! Our room was spacious with a king size bed. Wifi worked well even though we were in the back. We enjoyed the pool after a hot day outside. Concerned about the green color, front desk promptly reassured us that it was mineral water and checked every morning. My skin actually preferred it to chlorine. There was a little enclosure next to the pool where another family was playing fetch with their dog off leash. Perfect for pups that need to stretch out their legs!
Cheap place to stay
Red Roof Inn MerrillvilleYou get what you pay for. It was a cheap place that was clean and functional. Our dog enjoyed sleeping on the king size bed with us but we did everything we could to stay out of the room that smelled like smoke even though it was smoke free.
Beautiful scenery
Cuyahoga Valley National ParkWhile this is a small national park, it's definitely worth visiting. Lots of good trails and very diverse views from Brandywine Falls to the Ledges to the Beaver Marsh! Our handicapable pupper enjoyed the little walk to the Beaver Marsh but otherwise was carried for all the other trails.

Indiana Dunes National ParkOur handicapable pupper enjoyed digging in the sand on West Beach. Even though it's considered the busy season, there was plenty of space so it didn't feel crowded. The dunes were a beautiful sight and had a nice time hiking through the marsh. The trails could be better marked but thankfully they aren't too hard to follow as long as you have a map.
