- CatalinaJun 6, 2024Great place to take your dog for a walk!
Enough shade and grass for your dog to walk on and cool off. Definitely a long walk, make sure to bring water for your furry friend!
- LindaMar 14, 2024Wonderful day at the landing!
We had an amazing day visiting the landing. They were super pet friendly - our pup even went with us to visit the museum. We walked the trails and visited the gardens. Linda the volunteer offered to give us a tour and drove us and our pup around the property on her golf cart. We really had a wonderful day!
- StayseaJun 28, 2023Enjoyed our Adventure!
Braved the summer heat & walked the historic & nature trails. Majority of the walk is shaded. Plenty of spots to sit down & take a breather/water break.

My pup and I loved our day here! best walking in shaded areas with plenty of water fountains, places to sit, and tons of sniffing

The staff was completely dog friendly. You can go everywhere but the animal house. The trail is long picturesque and informative.
- MeredithJul 25, 2022Such a fantastic walk!
This is a beautiful place to take your pup! The only place the pups can’t go is the animal exhibit. There are several water fountains along the history trail and some even had a dog bowl that could be filled!
- BarbNov 2, 2021Great trails
History is before you as you take the trails of CharlesTowne Landing - the original settlement before Charleston. Many signs to read and learn. This park covers history from 1670 to almost present day. There is ongoing excavation that you are able to watch in progress and a replica ship that would go along the river. I highly recommend this. Dogs are not allowed in the animal area or in the museum.
- NicholaOct 18, 2020Extremely Pet Friendly
the staff were excellent. Hal was able to enter the Visitor Center and the Commons Lodge. Beautiful site with live oaks covered in moss, and informative history on the first permanent settlement in SC.
- LynetteJan 7, 2020Fantastic Park
Our teens and dog loved this park. There is plenty to see and do and the trails are beautiful. The only place our dog couldn’t go was inside the zoo but they have chairs and swings just outside the entrance to the small zoo, so my husband waited with our dog while the kids visited the animals and it worked great. The Avenue of Oaks is stunning.
- KristenOct 14, 2019Lily loved it 🐺
Great place for pets- Lily got to go everywhere and altho she was taunted by squirrels, she did not see any alligators! Beautiful park- perfect for strolling- gorgeous scenery. Super friendly staff!!
- JanMore than a year agoFun place to walk & sniff
Charlestowne Landing is an excellent place to take your dog. Some areas are restricted, but there is plenty of territory still available for walking, and “oh the smells we’ll smell!” I recommend going to their website to find out where pets are allowed, and then downloading a map, to see the walking areas that you can enjoy with your furbaby(ies).
