Love this place!
Katerina’s Taverna & Grillthe food is excellent and so is the service. but get here soon if you want the best baklava in town.

Great Food, Great service
Southern Roots SmokehouseThe brisket was the bomb! it left Hal licking his lips. I enjoyed their tangy Carolina mustard BBQ sauce. Their Mac and Cheese was rich and creamy with that perfect crusty cheese topping. the collards were cooked perfectly and had that perfect vinegary tang setting it over the edge. the staff were dog-friendly, even giving Hal treats.

She Crab Soup
Gilligan's SeafoodIf in this area of Charleston, heading south on 17 towards Savannah, stop at Gilligans for some she crab soup. It’s rich, creamy and full of crab. The staff are dog friendly. Small outdoor seating area. there are other Gilligans throughout the Charleston area. this one was close to our campground.

Mex 1 Was Delish
Mex 1 Coastal Cantinaafter a long morning walking Charles Towne Landing, Hal & I had a beer Mex 1. Any dish with the word “banging” in front of it is what to order here. While the quesadillas are oversized and filling, the chips, quest and guac would have sufficed. Very dog friendly, and Hal approved.

Excellent Views Of The Bridge
Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront ParkWanna take a great pic of your dog and the Arthur Ravenel, Jr bridge? then take a quick stop at this waterfront park. dogs are not allowed on the pier, but there are numerous “Kodak Moments” all over this park. Its free to park and free to walk.

Extremely Pet Friendly
Charles Towne Landingthe staff were excellent. Hal was able to enter the Visitor Center and the Commons Lodge. Beautiful site with live oaks covered in moss, and informative history on the first permanent settlement in SC.

A Cuppa Tea In The Morning
Charleston Tea GardenHal and I had a relaxing morning exploring the Tea Plantation. They were very dog friendly, offered him water and took our picture with Paddy.

Wonderfully Dog Friendly
Folly Beach Crab ShackLooking for a laid back, casual environment, cold beer and great seafood with a southern twist? Folly Beach Crab Shack hit the spot. Wonderful service, and very dog friendly. Hal enjoyed his first trip to a restaurant here.

Campground Very Dog Friendly
Huntington Beach Campgroundseems like everyone is traveling with their dogs nowadays. this campground is full of dogs and most people seem open to having dogs around them. Hal can go just about anywhere on the beach. Lots of trails, too.

Training At PetSmart
PetSmart Trainingthe trainer at PetSmart Lauren location is experienced. the sessions have been very nice thus far. Hal has been enjoying Dog School.

Sunday Morning At Legacy Park
Legacy ParkHal and I really enjoyed our Sunday morning at Legacy Park. Beautiful park and not a lot of people around.

Limited Areas Open To Dogs
Lake Conestee Nature PreserveHal and I have been going to Lake Conestee Nature Park since it opened. as of June 18, 2020, dogs are no longer allowed on the dirt-based nature trails. they, along with bikes, can only be on the paved paths. While this significantly reduces where you can go in the park, it is still a decent place to take your dog. my rating of 3 bones out of 5 is because of throw new rule. there had been several reports recently of dogs being off leash, I am sure it led the management to this decision.
