    Bella kind of approves

Bella loved walking around the lighthouse grounds! dogs can’t go inside any of the buildings so its just the grounds that you can walk on. don’t recommend going by yourself with your pup because then you can’t see anything . my husband and I took turns going in to see the different museums and things.

    Dogs only outside

No point in paying admission if you have your dog with you. They aren’t allowed inside.

    Dogs allowed outside only

For $15 a person you can’t take your dog anywhere on site except outside and the gift shop. They can go if they are service animals only.

    Dog friendly but…

Dog friendly but for $15 a person you can’t go in any of the historic buildings and there isn’t much to do without those exhibits. Maybe spend 20 mins total. Not worth the money.

    Went To The Park Instead

There’s a boat ramp down the road with a long pier. We decided to check it out and got some good views of the lighthouse!

    Was Ok

$12.00 a person to get into the area. Dogs are not allowed in any of the buildings. There is a nature path behind the lighthouse that was fun for the puppy to walk on. Not a very big area. We spent maybe 15-20 mins here as we couldn’t really do anything.

    Nice Place

Good area for dogs to rest or walk on a trail behind the lighthouse

There are better things to do with Fido

Honestly, it was not worth it for the price. It was 12 dollars a person plus tax, so we paid about 25 dollars to look at a light house that we could see at any angle of the city... We knew going into it that the dog wouldn't be allowed in the light house or the Keeper's Quarters, but that was all there was! There was a teeny tiny trail around the property and a couple plaques. There was also a small area where they were restoring a boat, and they had an old rudder that had been found in the ocean. It took us about 20 minutes to see everything. We took turns standing outside with the dog so we could see the Keerer's Quarters and the inside of the bottom of the lighthouse, and we took some nice pictures. The staff were very friendly.
If it was a cheaper price, I'd feel differently, but it was a good chunk of money to wander around for a few minutes.

    Nice Spot to Relax

Before I review I will say we received admission free and that played a big part in how we enjoyed the lighthouse. The grounds were very well shaded and an excellent place to take a break and walk around with the dog! Dogs are not allowed in the lighthouse or in the buildings so really the draw is mostly just an interesting place to let your dog get some exercise and take in the sights! Personally I had a great time but can't see myself paying to return.

    Great stop with the dog

Our dog was allowed to go through the gift shop to enter the lighthouse property. There is a small trail around the property. Dogs aren't allowed to climb the lighthouse or enter the historic buildings. Plenty to see with Fido. It was nice to let him stretch his legs and get some cute photos. Worth the stop. Also a nice park across the street to picnic with your dog.
