Cute park tucked away in a neighborhood

Appreciate that the community uses this dog park! Friendly pups and owners, mainly grass, several benches, bags, trash bins and a water spigot ( off during our November visit). Fenced off small and large parks. Large side was definitely generous in space.

    Aggressive dogs

These are dogs that are not just aggressive dogs but breeds that are not even permitted to live in apartment buildings, according to statistics. Many states have 3 time rule before they are put down and skin doe not have to be broken. It's their instinct to play this way, if you want to call it that. In a few short minutes or seconds, the dog accelerates and picks his victim to chase , pin it down and sick his teeth into areas not friendly, they snarl and growl which at that moment as the dog tries to defend himself gets bitten harder in its private area neck and belly. the stories I'm getting and I've done it myself. The owner victim runs over claps his hands , says leave it or let go, the owner of dog that is not paying attention to their dog biting in a mean or dangerous way... gets yelled at hey your dog won't let go could you call your dog... the victim dog is crying and squealing. one owner said dogs will be dogs, its his instinct. I had to said to an owner, isn't that what parents says about their kids misbehaving. snarling and growing is not considered healthy play. your dog is missing all of the signals. the dog is on his back with his legs apart hoping he's now protected against the dog's next move. I was told by a family with the 3 dogs which are not allowed, 2 dog limit, was asked to leave the park after several incidents with their dogs biting hard ... 2 pitbulls and and unknown breed maybe mix of beagle hound. The guy had stopped me and said hey I remember you, I said yes and smiled. Remember the dogs that attacked your dog, yes I said my puppy was screaming. The same dogs attacked mine and would not let go of my dog's paw until I ran over and clapped my hands and said leave, go play toys. My 8 month old doodle was bitten by these dogs repeatedly. The day before yesterday, we were about to leave the park and I put my dogs lease on, then I noticed a hugh Rottweiler in corner of eye coming in with owner. I said to my self, oooooh no he's eyeing my puppy( 50lbs, she's good size) she went right to my dog quick as lighting. my doodle is extremely sharp and quick but not quick enough for him. He got a hold of her, she fell, on back opened legs and dog didn't understand the signal of back off. Bit privates stomach and paws , would not let go. My ankle was wrapped around her lease and I went flying and leaped to ground hard hurting my shoulder hip and knee. I see and hear the squealing. I cried out someone get a hold of my puppy and get the rot dog away from her. A guy that had a dog my puppy was playing with prior, ran over to us. The owner of the Rot froze. The guy yelled to the woman, throw me your dog's lease, grabbed the dog away. I screamed again, someone please get my puppy. All of a sudden I see a hugh hand reach down and say may I help you up. I thanked him profusely got my dog looked at the woman and left. My dog was in shock outside of the gate area. I had to help her into the car. I felt like I had been run over by a truck for the next several days. I have a rare dystrophy, part of a mitochondrial disease affecting the nerve and muscle. It flared up tremendously. At 65, I try my best to keep active with limitation. My dog has been in a daze, shaken, frozen. The sign at park, I don't know if anyone cares to read it. It needs more clarity, owners that bring in pets and also trash the area,,, smoke which isn't allowed, water jugs not picked , doodle duns left on ground when there are bags in receptacles. I try to come prepared with a few bags. I think certain breeds have to be specified on signage, lettering larger. I have friends that raise pitts mastiff's shepherd's, etc love the attention and continuing training is more critical and they're great dogs in military's or police, etc. some make good family pets, training to do with things on the outside in the public eye is different. They need more attention cause they don't like separation from owners for long period. they love the outsides. I think certain dogs are only compatible with certain breeds. Dogs can get spooked so easily at any age and be fearful and bite out of fear.
dogs need continual guidance too. Just like human, we are compatible and make friends with individuals we like and feel safe with. Mine for incidence is extremely passive, very playful, affectionate, smart, quiet, hates being separated for long time, loves people, will stay close to dogs she feels safe with. I won't be back to the park for a while. I'll give it 3 bones.

    Great Public Park

Great park! There are separate small dog and large dog sections. Both are fairly large. The fences are tall with no gaps for dogs to slip between. Only issue was an RV decided to park in the small dog park lot and made all but 6 parking spots unusable so if you have an RV, park in one of the other two larger lots and walk up the hill.

    Great Stop

the park is great - the only reason I subtracted a bone is there was quite a bit of unpicked up poop! other than that the other dogs and people were friendly and fun - great place to wear out the dogs!

    Perfect place to rest!

The locals were friendly and all knew each other. The dogs were friendly too. There is a pin for small dogs and large dogs, tho the dogs were friendly enough you could just put them all in the large pin. There were baby pools for them to play in and a water hose to rinse off with. Very clean!

The park is small but clean. Friendly people made our visit even more special. Glad we came and wish it were not so far from home.
