Fort Matanzas National Monument
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to join their humans at the historic Fort Matanzas National Monument, including on the beach and trails. Dogs are not permitted on the ferry, in the fort, or in the visitor center, with the exception of service animals.

We drive out to the fort when we visit St. Augustine. It's a lovely drive, short, and interesting views. Dogs are not allowed on the ferry to the Fort, but they are allowed on the grounds. The Fort can be seen from the dock and if you have a good zoom you can take pictures.
