My two sisters, both grads, claim that the fenced in dog walk area was said to be "the finest in the land." It was legendary. And that's all it is, today. A long lost legend, replaced at some point with what appears to be a lightly used paramilitary obstacle course. The intramural playing fields, themselves, are marked "No dogs." What remains are trails on Herrick Lake Forest Preserve and adjacent university property. These trails are equipped with occasional baggie/trash stations, on which dogs must be kept leashed. Perhaps the powers that be can set up a new fenced in dog running area in the general vicinity of the UGA Soccer Stadium at 2330 S Milledge Ave south of the Loop.

Tiger is a runner, loves open space and exploring and this was just the place for him to do it. I traveled from Augusta on a whim one day and found this place and loved it. Will surely be on my way back with my baby this way.

This really is a gem! People should know though that the dog area is not fully fenced off from the non-dog area, and that there are train tracks next to the dog area that are not fenced off from the dog area. So recall is important but the actual forest and meadows are very nice.

My dog and I love the UGA intramural fields. It is in the middle of this greater trail/park... there is a "fenced" in off-leash area that also has trails and pockets of fields so when Frank is tired of running along a path we stop and throw the frisbee in a field. It's well shaded, however, there are no water bowls (so bring your own) and no poop-bags (so bring your own). But it's still my favorite
