- GMar 16, 2023Pet Kennels available onsite
We stopped here on a road trip to Louisiana and were pleased to find that there were kennels available for you to secure your pet while you take a tour of the Battleship and Submarine. Cost is $10 at the gift shop where they give you a lock for the kennel - which is fully refundable once you return the kennel. It was a bit chilly that day and there were no water bowls provided in the pet kennels but otherwise it was a safe and secure place for my pup to be while we toured the facility.

You can pay $5 to visit the green area and exhibits outside the ship (planes, tanks, dog war veteran memorial, Vietnam memorial) or you can pay an additional fee to go on the ship. If you want to tour the ship, they have outdoor kennels where you can put your dog. Fido can’t go on the actual ship but they’re very welcoming toward dogs. There’s even a memorial honoring dogs who served in battle.

Great park to wander around and see the planes & memorials. War Dog memorial was a nice touch for a dog activity day

Dogs are permitted in the outdoor park area and there are kennels available for rent if you wanted to visit the battleship and the submarine.

If you are in the Mobile area, don't miss this amazing battleship and the memorials on its grounds. Along with the ship are examples of planes, helicopters, boats and tanks which served us in warfare. There are memorials to those who served in past wars as well as 9-11. They haven't forgotten the brave canines who served alongside our soldiers as well. The memorial park is dog friendly and if you care to tour the ship, there are outdoor kennels where your companions can relax while you're inside.

While the Battleship, and the USS Drum submarine, are the highlights of this vast park, tributes to world wars, conflicts, 9-11, and even troop service dogs are also acknowledged for their role in keeping our nation safe and free. Having the covered kennels on site gave our dog a safe place to wait while we visited the indoor exhibits, and then join us with the exhibits outdoors.

Traveling thru Mobile we stopped for some historical education. Great photo ops and options to walk around with the dog.
- JoannaOct 29, 2019Nice Location To Learn About Military History
Took a quick detour here. They allow dogs to walk on leash through the park and the outside sites. We were told if we wanted to tour inside, we could kennel our dogs in their kennel and take the key with us. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the time to try it out. We did enjoy a long walk with the dogs in the gentle breeze in a beautiful location.
