    Balls

It would be nice if there were something for the dogs to do other than chance each other. Balls would be nice. There is a tree that used to pop out tennis balls. And the balls were ok then. Why not now? Plus there is a bad dip in the center of the big dog side on the turf. I almost twisted my ankle. I hate to have someone get hurt. Other than these things it’s a great park, but needs upkeep.
    Sincerely,
    Dog owner

    Great location, semi-great people

I had a great experience the first time I brought my golden retriever to the park. A lot of the owners were attentive and the pups were kind. The next time I went, there was a pack of maybe 5 black labs that were harassing other dogs, including mine. They wouldn’t stop humping him, barking at him. As we were leaving, they began to snap at him. The owners simply didn’t care. We did end up leaving because I didn’t feel safe at the park. It honestly seems like it would be very hit or miss just depending on the day. My pup did enjoy it until he didn’t though. The bridge, room to run, and water pads are super stimulating!

    Respectful & Friendly Dog Park

We brought our 13lb miniature poodle puppy here while we were on vacation in Lancaster to let him run around for a bit with other dogs; to bring him out of his shell. Our puppy seemed to enjoy himself very much. It was a nice outing for our puppy, we didn't run into any problems, and the other owners were also friendly.

    Good for a little exercise

We brought our two dogs here while we were on vacation in Lancaster to let them run around for a bit with other dogs. Our dogs seemed to enjoy themselves very much. We didn't see a big problem with dog poop and the park was not too crowded when we were there. It had also been raining for a couple of weeks before we arrived, so that might have helped. I didn't like that the ground was on such a slope and I wasn't crazy about the Astroturf. Still, it was a nice outing for our dogs, we didn't run into any problems, and the other owners were friendly.

    Great park

First time at this park. such a neat place. Dogs were nice and they would either run around together or roam by themselves. there is running water fountains so you don’t need to lug around water jugs. definitely coming back.

    Great neighborhood Dog Park

We came here twice to check it out. The dogs were all very friendly and owners were attentive. We had a lot of fun sniffing all of the structures like the beagle tunnel in the small dog section and the walkway bridge thing in the big dog section. There is a nice deck with chairs for the humans and lots of activities for the doggies.

    Such a beautiful park!

My dog loved everything about the park! He ran around and befriended all the dogs, big and small. My only hang up was, with such a beautiful park, people let their dogs use the bathroom on the fake grass turf and not pick up after them. It's a beautiful park -- same rules should apply! Pick up after them -- there are receptacles for their waste!

    great park

We were here from out of town and are always looking for a unleashed dog park so our pup can play and run with other dogs. This park was absolutely wonderful it was large and had different areas for the dogs to run such as a track and a bridge for them to go over. They have turf instead of grass. There is also a lot of sitting for the humans We will go again when we are in the area

    Disgusting

This park has poop everywhere due to owners who just want to socialize rather than take care of their dogs. The small side large side thing isn't followed either and many innocent dogs have been bitten. I also know that many dogs have gotten sick from this park.

Best park - ppl, that travel with their pets will see this is by far the most user friendly park, the dogs have a great time for the most part the dog parents are responsible but it takes a village. A great community of people and dogs

    Disgusting and dangerous

There is poop everywhere because the owners dont clean it up or watch their dogs. It smells like dog pee and there is not a lot of room to fetch a ball. My dog got attacked 3 times while we were there for 15 minutes. The owners did nothing but stand there and watch my dog yipe and run to me for protection. It would be a nice place if the people who went there followed the rules and paid attention to/trained their dogs.

    Dog Park

I take my small dog to the small side and the dogs and people are mostly well behaved. The large dog side is another story. I am always hereing fights. My sister took her 1 year old lab and a pitbull latched onto its lip. The pit wouldn't let go until her husband hit it. The owner of the pitbull said nothing. Jerk. Maybe they could hire someone to oversee and if this happens that dog is banned. I would be happy to pay $25 a year to help pay for this service.

    Great for dogs AND owners!

The park is great. It offers a clean space for you pup to play. There is no mud or dirt since its turf. Comfortable chairs for the owners to enjoy as they watch their dog. My only complaint is the tennis ball tree doesn't work. Don't listen to the negative comments- all parks will have rowdy dogs or negligent owners sometimes. This park is great and worth the drive!!

Just there on July 13 2015

The park is in great shape, the other owners and dogs were great. The only negative I can state 'twas the kids coming and going to play in the water area as if it were a kids sprinkler.

    Loved i!

We were in the Lancaster, PA area for a camping vacation with our labradoodle in May 2015. We went to this dog park 4 evenings for at least 2 hours each time while we were there. My dog loved it and so did we! I was very impressed with the spray park, artificial grass, tennis ball tree and lots of water for the dogs. I even recommended it to someone at the campground who took there dog there too.

    Amazing!

Took my dog here on a puppy vacation. We live 3 hours away and it was so worth it. There is so many things to do around Lancaster too. The park was clean and the dogs were very well behaved and the owners were all very nice. They were all giving us suggestions of where we should eat/explore since we are not from around there. I will be going back this summer!

    free, clean, good,watch out

Over the past few years, have frequented the park; our experience, clean, good dogs & guardians. Water feature on hot days is great. Sure looks good but the new 2013 design has hidden errors & can be dangerous for the dogs: WATCH out for the metal poles, slippery astro-turf, congestion by the water fountain, deck is very, very slippery when wet, lower area is hidden from the upper deck area, so must watch if dogs go to the lower area.
**for dogs that really need to run and stretch their legs, the new design of the park has prohibited this:(( very sad:( The side for the small dogs is better for the big dogs! Still, thank flu to have a park at all:)

Wish NC had one like this!

Visited this park with our two boxers while in the area to spend time with relatives. What a beautiful park! Was a little out of our way but definitely worth the extra time. Very clean, lots of dogs on a Friday morning. The regulars were friendly and welcoming. Wish we lived closer...

    Disappointed

We began bringing out GSP puppy to the park for the exercise she needs due to the breed. Initially we were very happy and she was so happy to run and be around other dogs. Unfortunately over the past months we have been very disappointed in the condition of the park and the pet guardians. Our fun loving puppy, has been attacked twice by Pit Bulls. Not that I stereotype, however when they are in a pack they do get aggressive and she was pounced on by 5 on one occasion. A very nice man assisted her until we got to help her. In addition many of the dogs are not spayed or neutered and the water area has become a free sprinkler for the city kids. In addition no one is cleaning up after their dogs and even vomit was present in the dog dish. Our 9 month old now hides when we enter the park. At our last outing there was a lady standing outside of the fence talking to her friend about how her dog hates other dogs but she was going to bring it in anyway and if he bites someone she will just leave without him. We are left to look for a new area for our sweet girl to be safe! I think some policies need to be put in line. Maybe enrollment of your dog where a picture will be taken, immunizations will be verified and a mini behavior test, Upon approval you pay $5.00 for a swipe card per year with a semi-annual enrollment time. That way if an incident occurs the card can be revoked.

    Great Park

Just for fun, we actually made the dog park the center of a little "doggie vacation" weekend (since it's only an hour away). The park is a little tricky to find the first time. The park is very nice and still feels brand new. Like a lot of places your enjoyment will mostly depend on the other dogs/people you meet. We had a very nice experience and would go there again.

    Beautiful Park

This park was made over in 2013 as the winning park in Beneful's Dream Dog Park contest. Has small and large dog side, both with splash pads. Tennis ball tree that launches tennis balls on the large dog side. Full turf, and chairs. Awesome place to visit!

    Awesome Park

OK the dog park may have Dog POOP laying around BUT I have seen people cleaning it up when they brought there dog they didn't want to step in it and if Everyone would clean up after their own dog you would not have that your DOG your pick it up and people should not bring their fighting dogs to the dog park that is an accident waiting to happen I could go on and on but let me tell you the dogs have fun and the parents to the dogs get to chat too BONUS!!

FREE AND CLEAN EVERYONE WAS WELCOMED

COLD NOV. DAY AND TOOK TWO BOXERS TO PARK. SEVERAL DOGS ALTLEAST TWENTY AND NO DOG FIGHTS. OWNERS WERE INFORMATIVE OF WHICH DOGS COULD BE APPROACHED . SUGGESTED SINCE NO ONE WAS IN THE LITTLE DOG AREA TO KEEP MINE IN THERE UNTIL THEY GOT COMFORTABLE. PARK WAS CLEAN AND PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY. WOULD BRING MY OWN TOYS TO PLAY WITH NEXT TIME . LIKED THE SEPERATE AREAS TO SEE HOW THE DOGS WOULD DO BEFORE JUST LETTING THEM RUN SINCE IT WAS THEIR FIRST TIME WITH SUCH A LARGE AMOUNT OF DOGS. PLAN TO GO AGAIN . TOOK THE KIDS AND THEY WERE WELCOMED AS WELL. AREAS WERE CLEAN AND NO RANDOM DOG POOP.

    New and Improved!

I can honestly say that we've had a blast since we started going. All the negative reviews are from before the park was remodeled. It's like doggy paradise now. All the people I've met have been friendly, as have their dogs. There really is endless amusement to be had. Plenty of activities, as well as separate large and small dog enclosures. If you can get the chance to stop buy, I would highly recommend it!

Park has been redone - a must visit as it is wonderful!

We are so jealous Lancaster has this wonderful newly done park and they did it right! Heard a local woman won a contest and this beautiful park is the prize. Totally fenced in with a side for smaller dogs and one for larger. Each has a beautiful deck with sun shades and comfortable chairs for dog owners to watch their dogs as they play on the astro turf with the Frisbees and tennis balls being shot out of a ball shooter! Each side also has a water park section and doggie drinking fountains. People were cleaning up after their dogs and it was very well kept. College students from the local college come over to play with the dogs too since they miss their pets. Our dog loved it so much we went back twice during our three day stay in Strasburg. Dog heaven!

Total Re-Do: It's Like Disney for Dogs!

Beneful spent $500,000 on a re-do for this park. It has artificial turf, separate small and large dog areas, water features, and so much more. I love going!
