    Awesome park

The only negative I can think of is the lack of shade for humans. Otherwise it’s a huge park

    Good Park in Wichita

As far as the park itself goes, I love this park. It's beautiful and well-maintained, and the RC aircraft field right next door makes this aviation nerd happy. Our only complaint is how few people appear to use the park. Kenzie is pretty antisocial and unless there are lots of dogs, she doesn't really end up playing much, so we prefer to go to busier parks. We love the little worn path around the fence and walk laps while we let Kenzie play!

    Close To Hwy

Traveling through the area and this park was easy on/off from the highway. Separate areas. Grassy. Large.

    Below Average Dog Park

Nothing really special about this park. Lots of room to run but word of cushion on the back side there is a lot of broken glass, it looks like some purposely broke the glass and laid it there. Also my worse nightmare - older laddies with out of control big dogs. I know this can happen anywhere. Fortunately I have a 150lb Mastiff so he was okay but just sharing my experience. I won’t go there again.

    More Than a Dog Park

Just got back from Chapin with my Pitbull. She doesn't play so well with others, so we didn't go into the enclosed area. Instead, we walked the gravel bike path near the river, mindful of bikers & other walkers. Got a glimpse of a bald eagle flying low over the river (twice)!

    We are there every day!

I live 1/2 a mile from this park, so I go every day. There are now large signs at both entrances to the park: one on Hydraulic south of the drive in, and one on MacArthur across from Emery Park. This is a fun park with lots of great owners and their dogs. As with all public places you get a few bad apples, but mostly it's good people. Restrooms for people are available, the water is on and there are benches for humans and shade(for the dogs, anyway). Unfortunately there is some broken glass you have to watch out for, and not everyone picks up after Fido, but all in all a good spot to let your pup run and play.

    Alright

I love the park when done people are not there. The ones who can not control or even watch their dog/dogs. My dogs are very well behaved and listen well. I have control over them and they are very passive. Some dogs are aggressive. Just some people ignore that. It is a lot of fun when nothing bad happens.

Fun in the summer when the pools are out and the water is on. I will continue to go with my 2 dogs.

I am pretty sure the above map is incorrect. I just spoke with someone from Parks and Rec, and it looks like the google map that comes up is correct. The park is on the South side of Wichita, by Emery Park. I am coming up to visit famiy from out of state and wanted to make sure I know where I am going!

    Not sure of location

We haven't been yet. Would like to come, but are confused as to the location. When I mapquest the address given, it shows up down south near the Air Force Base, but the map on the website shows it on the north side of town. ???

    Chapin Dog Park

We love the park, but be careful about dogs who bite. I got bit by a dog that did not have rabies shot tags and the owner would not take responsibility for what happened. I didn't realize I needed to hold the dog and the owner there until the police got there. A hard lesson to learn. IF YOU or your dog GET BIT, make sure you call the cops right away and hold the dog owner and the dog there. Otherwise, you may have to get rabies shots, which are costly (around $2000).

    Dog Park

Awesome park located directly behind Starlite Drive-In(Only road behind drive-in before you hit the river). Our only complaints were the lack of trees and shade for people and the glass located on the ground when you walk in to the gate but we stopped and helped clean up. Very large space with s couple of wading pools. We definitely recommend and will be back to run and play again.

    Location

Not sure why folks couldn't find it - the address is 2400 E. MacArthur - behind the drive in. Sign is small at the entrance but it's there and clear. It's a great location. My dogs love it!

great park! people friendly to us and our dog. Dogs
friendly. Park was clean, fresh water for dogs to drink, wading pool for them to wallow in and get
    washed in. We'll be back.

    Starlite

It's behind the Starlite Drive-In. Same entrance as the model plane field.

    Where

I could not find one either. However right across the bridge on the right there was a huge field that was mowed and with woods on 2 sides the river on the left and only Hydraulic (barely used out there) the dogs were able to run till exhausted so it was fun

There is no park at this location

If I somehow missed it, please let me know. My dog is still disappointed from the unfulfilling car ride.
