- KyraMay 28, 2024Great park!
This park is fenced in on the two ends and then has a canal on each side. There is also a smaller fully fenced in area. We really enjoyed ourselves and the only negative was the geese poop everywhere. My dog rolled in it and was able to rinse off in water, so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, it was an awesome park!

Plenty of space to run. No issues finding it using Google maps. Plenty of poop bags at the fenced off area.

A big nope for this park. It’s extremely hard to find, we never saw the fenced off areas. The park is huge and sprawling, and we saw many off leash dogs all over. The frisbee golf course was interspersed in the dog area. Unless your dog has perfect recall and/or you find the actual fenced off areas, this park is not for you. Better directions should be posted. Too bad, we needed a good spot to burn off some energy.

We are passing through town and decided to stop at this dog park. It is the best one we have been to! it’s so big and beautiful, it has a really big area for shy dogs, but no one was in it when we were there. Our dog is very shy, but there were a lot of little dogs that he made friends with in the main area. We will definitely be back!

This dog park is perfect! I love that it is surrounded by water versus a fence. It’s very clean and lots of room for your dogs to roam. The park is close to the River front so you can take a walk along the River front as well. Our pup couldn’t get enough of playing around there.
My only suggestion would be to have some water/bowls available for thirsty pups.

what a great park and great dog park. the park itself is enormous and the dog park has lots of area and grass, water, fences and was full of brand new tennis balls today. of course, most of the dogs were more interested in playing with each other. nice dogs and nice owners and a very clean and spacious play area for the pups. put this one at the top of your list!

I stopped by Ann Morrison Park’s Dog Island while visiting Boise and my dog (and I) couldn’t have been happier. The island is fenced in on the two ends, and the sides are bordered by canals. If your dog is not a swimmer (as mine is not), they will be securely ensconced within the large park. On the day I visited, the park was filled with a few dozen medium to large dogs playing nicely and taking advantage of the sprawling space to run. There are benches, some small treed areas, and a shallow beach to enter the water if your dog likes to swim. There is also a fully fenced area for “shy” dogs and plenty of Mutt Mitts and free-ranging tennis balls. Owners were nice and almost all had a close eye on their pups. This is a family-friendly place, so be sure your dog is cool with all ages of people (including toddlers). I found this to be a fantastic park—wish I lived nearby!
- KatieNov 5, 2020Dog Island is best!!!
I think the description is a little old.... the dog park is on an island accessible by bridge. Dogs are able to jump in water and chase ducks, and the dog area is massive. By far the best dog park I have been too!!! And all of Ann Morrison park is off leash. Its a great park in whole!
