Great beach for dogs and humans!

North Beach Clearwater starts north of Somerset St. We went early, about 8:30 so the dogs wouldn’t be out in the heat of the day. We got street parking right near the beach access both days. Unlike other dog beaches that give you the less desirable part of the beach this area was very nice with white sand and nice shoreline.

    Beautiful Beach

Beautiful beach that allows leashed dogs to the north only. We did see Beach Patrol so thinking they are pretty strict. Didn’t give 5 stars just because there is no dog wash area for all the sand afterwards! Also beware that none of the local restaurants are dog friendly for outside seating, apparently it’s a City ordinance but we weren’t aware and paid for more parking after paying once already for the beach, only to be turned away at Frenchy’s Rockport Grill.

    Leashed dogs beach

Beautiful beach for hanging out with your family including leashed pup. Only drawbacks: No washrooms nearby and parking can be challenging. We researched ahead, got dropped off at Somerset, while hubby parked car on main road and enjoyed our day thoroughly !

    Riley’s First Ocean Experience

Just moved here from a landlocked state and took my rottie mix here to see the ocean for the first time. He is older and is slowing down but seeing him play in the waves and experience the beach reminded me of his earlier days! It was so clean and not too crowded (went on a Tuesday in may though). Other dogs were leashed and well mannered. Only downsides were no amenities (shower/wash station, poop bags etc.) And a bit of a walk from parking through a neighborhood. Will be back!!

    Favorite beach on Clearwater.

Clearwater Beach is actually not dog friendly. But if you drive north, right begore the Residencial Neighborhood, dogs are allowed if kept on a leash. We parked on the street on the metered parking and walked about 3 min.
There is not an actual dog beach with amenities such as restrooms or clean stations [ no pet waste bags], no lifeguards. However the beach is beautiful, clean, wide, and sand is white!
There are tons of shells, they can be sharp, but we went with our 5 months puppy and everything was fine.

    Great beach!

Took my dog for her first beach venture. She loved it! Not too many people. Very clean. Be sure to bring your own pick up bags for poop, as there are no public dispensers.

    Amazing place for your dog

We have been to this beach everyday of our visit to Indian Rocks Beach. Our Aussie has walked the total length of the beach that dogs are allowed. She has gone off leash when there is no one around on the beach. She has played on the water and run along the shore. we always bring a poop pick up bag when I go to a place I don’t know so I was not put out that there were no supplies. We have loved this beach. Our Aussie loves it when we pull up to the parking spot. Excellent dog beach.

    There's better beaches

I'm trying to be fair but to me and my 2 dogs, this beach isn't a top spot to go. First, you feel like you're castaway to the area of the beach where there's nothing. There's no dog pickup bags to clean up after your dog, no watering stations, no trash cans. Second, you need to keep your dog on a leash even when they go in the ocean? I go to several dog beaches such as Lovers Key in Ft. Meyers Beach and the dogs can run loose with no leash. If your dogs can't be trusted, then don't bring them. I've been here 1 hour and that's enough for me. I suggest you try Pass a Grille Dog Beach in St. Pete Beach.

    Nice beach!

really nice, relaxing beach area to take your pet! people are usually super nice and accepting of dogs being on this side of the beach. can’t really complain about much, it’s a beautiful area. the only pain is there’s no restrooms near by, but beggars can’t be choosers! i would definitely recommend this beach to visit with your furry pal!

    Fun day at the beach

nice Long Beach to walk! Used pay by metered parking on street and entered down the street just like the app says. Dogs to the right. No bathrooms for people but the Salty Crab was a 10 min walk that was pet friendly. we had a nice lunch and clean bathroom. it was a fun afternoon!

    Best beach in the area!

Loved this beach! Bring your umbrella, chairs etc and sit on a beautiful beach with your furry friend! We walked and walked and played in the water! Fun was had by all! Quintessential gulf beach that you can enjoy with your fur baby! Leashes were required here.

    Great beach for doggos

i brought my pup here for his first beach experience and he had the time of his life. we went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t busy but he ran around on a 50 ft leash, splashed in the water and played frisbee and fetch. almost everyone wanted to say hi and he even made a friend. i recommend this beach!! it was so fun, I will be returning with him

    Great Dog Beach

Loved that everyone was responsible with on leash and picking up. Stayed for the sunset. My blind dog is quite the beach baby to my surprise. She and my old dog had a blast without having to worry about being bothered by other off leash dogs.

    Clean area

Our pup loved it here. Beach access with a short block walk to public parking. Area was clean and all others on the beach were respectful of space and cleaning up after their dogs.

    Great dog friendly beach!

Our dogs loved it here. Some dogs were off leash so I think that’s perfectly acceptable. Highly recommend it.

Large dog beach and not crowded!

We had a great time here and were able to enjoy a few hours playing and walking with our 2 dogs. The beach is at the very end of public street parking but we were able to find a close spot the 3 times we went during spring break!

Nice but a bit far from parking

The beach is very nice and it is dog friendly.
This beach is in a residential zone. It starts 1 block after public parking stops. Not bad if you are only going with a few things. In our case, we had to walk a lot with many things. Not ideal.
Also, we saw no bathroom nearby. So I would recommend it for a short visit. We went for a couple of hours and it was great.
