    Great park

the dogs sometimes squabble but they are doggos. I never had any problems. most owners watch their pets. it is annoying when little dogs are brought in the big dog area because they hump big dogs but the owners are normally right there to intervinez

    Ms.

If that pit bull incident happened I would have gotten a plate number and someone would be putting ALL their pit bulls,I would have submitted my complaint to the North Carolina Bureau Investigation, IT would not have gone unattended, no way.Sorry for your loss and your grief, please know almost always you have a recourse in these situations.

    Unsafe

If I could give it zero bones, I would. Nobody watches their dog and if you bring your medium sized dog over to the small area to avoid aggressive dogs in the large section then you will get criticized. If you love your dog & care about its well-being then don't bring your dog here!

    MAULING AREA

My wife and I took our two 11 year old yorkies there on Thursday at first we were the only ones there then a man in a black Chevrolet z71 about a 2005 model pulled up unloaded his 3 red nose pits he let them in the small dog area with mine before I could say anything or get my beloved dogs all three were on mine they shredded them like they were nothing. My wife passed out. Afterwards the owner whistled his dogs loaded up he laughed at us and left. The police officer there said we should have had our dogs on a leash. My wife and I are devastated my daughter has cried herself to sleep for 2 nights in a row all so some sick individual could get a laugh. The man was between 20 and 30 years old with a purple hat on. The police haven't called and followed up or anything I do not think they really care. This is enough for me to uproot my family once again and leave I can't sleep knowing there is someone like that man living in the same state. DO NOT take your dog here

A very good place to get energy out!

I take my boys to the dog park regularly. They love it. There are a few inattentive owners there, but you just have to pay attention to your dog and their reactions to other dogs. Also, the worst thing you can do is to pick up your dog in a fight. That only makes it worse. The previous reviewer and the girl who was bitten must not have much experience or knowledge about dog behavior. I have a large dog (71 lb) and a westie (24 lb) who both go on the big dog side and we haven't had any problems at all. My only issue is people who bring small children into the big dog side and get upset when the big dogs chase them. There is a sign that clearly states not to bring children into the big dog side. Follow the rules and it's a great place.

    Stranger Danger

When this first opened it seemed like a great idea. Unfortunately, it has become overrun with extremely aggressive dogs and inattentive owners. The large dog area seems to be especially problematic. I had my medium dog in the smaller area since she's very timid and would be overwhelmed with the bigger dogs. While I was there, I saw one dog go after another one in an extremely aggressive manner. The owner of the dog on the verge of being attacked tried to pick her own dog up in an attempt to prevent it from being hurt. The aggressive one BIT THE YOUNG LADY (she had to be treated at the ER)!! If the owner had been paying any attention instead of drinking a beer with his friend the whole incident may have been avoided, when his dog bit the other owner he called his dog and they ran away from the park!! Greenville Parks & Rec does nothing to patrol this area and there are too many irresponsible dog owners in Greenville for me to feel safe taking my four-legged friend there anymore!!

Great place for the dogs to run!

This is one of my dogs' favorite places to visit! It is relatively new to Greenville and is located right off of the Greenway. It's a great opportunity to take the pooches for a run and then let them play with their four-legged friends while I take a break.

The Park itself has two separate sections, one for large dogs and one for small. Water is available and if the weather is good, there is a good chance there will be plenty of dogs and their pet humans around. The community does a good job of keeping it fairly clean, but do beware - the ground is primarily sand, especially in the large dog area. Be ready for a good bath after a day at the park.

Overall, good dogs, good people, good park!
