Dumpy park with no great owners

Dumpy park with trash & dog poop. No one seems to take pride in keeping this park clean. Dogs that were they didn’t play fair and owners just sat around No watching their dogs.

    Nice experience

I visited this morning for the first time and it was a very pleasant experience.
About 20 friendly dogs and owners.
My dog loved it and we will be back

No bad dogs, just ignorant dog owners

Treaty's dog park is a typical dog park and is perfect for its intended purpose. It's plenty large enough for dogs to run and play, has a hose, a few shade trees and several benches. However, like all dog parks, the experience is more about the other visitors at the park than the park itself.

Too often we will bring our dog to Treaty and there will be an owner in the back corner who has a dog that does not like playing (maybe because of its nature or possibly its nurture). A dog park is a place to take your dog to play with other dogs. If you don't want your dog to play with other dogs, don't take your dog to a dog park.

I encourage dog owners to educate themselves and know what dog play is (It only takes a quick google search).

Again, If you have a dog that is overwhelmed and does not want to play, don't take your dog to a dog park.
If you are uncomfortable with the way dogs play, don't be a dog owner.

    Not safe for out-of-town dogs

We were hopeful when we saw this park. However, when we entered the first door of the double door entrance my dog (a goldendoodle) was swarmed by 4-5 dogs which led to my dog being humped and being knocked to the ground. The other owners had NO control of their dogs. It is a shame when irresponsible dog owners can make a park feel so unsafe. On the positive side, there was a different dog owner (which dog was not involved) came and talked to us after the incident and said this was unusual. She also told us about other activites in the park.

    Treaty Park warning

Took my Havanese puppy there yesterday and was terribly disappointed at how much this park has deteriorated. It used to be so pretty and dog friendly but no more. Barely any grass, dirty, and only one other dog that would rather chase the big dogs than play. I do not recommend this park to anyone!

    Clean with Friendly People

I just returned from the park where a number of people were there with their poodles, a goldendoodle (who is still a pup) and a boxer mix. My little fellow is a Corgi mix so not nearly as tall as the others but he did fairly well. My dog gets a little territorial when a dog wants attention from me but when my dog gave a little snarl signal at such an advance, I dressed him down and the owner of the other dog simply called the other dog away.

The owners all cleaned up after their dogs and were quite welcoming. There is plenty of shade with seating and buckets for watering the pups. The only downside is that the water faucet and hose to fill the buckets is at one end of the park and where the buckets are placed is in the treed area so carrying buckets of water from the faucet is likely a bit of a chore for any older folks.

I'll certainly be returning to the park for some sorely needed socialization for my dog.

    DON'T GO HERE UNSAFE

I have been to this park at 8:00 in the morning M-S and also in the evening around 4-5 p.m.. and I have seen many unfriendly dogs in this park. Owners do not put their dogs on a leash on the outside nor do they pick up after them. The people that go to this park are not responsible dog owners. They allow their dogs to bark and bite other dogs. I have seen aggressive dogs in the parking lot not on a leash run up and snarl at an old lady getting out of her car. I would not recommend this park at anytime.

    They have a hose!

Not sure when the reviewer below posted their comment but the park does have a small water hose located inside of the large dog area. I like this park, plenty of seating and shade. Only problem is I have a small dog and there are never any little guys playing! :(

    Just OK

This park leaves some things to be deired, but overall its a fenced area where my dogs can romp off leash and socialize with other pups. I wish they had a water hose for rinsing off paws etc after romping through the mud. ThAll they have in the large dog park area are two medium sized drinking buckets. They don't provide bags, or were out when we went so grab a couple before leaving the house. The park isn't huge, but it is big enough for the bigger dogs to stretch out. This park is nice and shady, which is great for the humans, and has some seating available in the shade. The fence is only 4 foot high, so if you have a jumper, be careful! There is a small separate area for dogs under 20lbs, which is nice for the lil guys. I'll be returning, but will be bringing gallons of water for paw cleaning before my dogs get in my car :)
