Awesome Park but Aggressive Breeds not Patrolled

This is a really nice dog park and the shame is when dog owners don't know their pets well enough to judge if they should be at a dog park. I've had GREAT experiences at Estabrook but have now on 2 occasions, consecutively, witnessed and been part of inappropriate and aggressive dogs at the park. First was a Rottweiler and then a Boxer/Pitbull mix. Dogs wrestle and can get a little too excited but these incidents were driven by 2 aggressive dogs that should not have been at a dog park. In both incidents, the owners left with their dogs after the incident but a dog could have really gotten hurt. I hate stigmas attached to dog breeds. In these instances, regardless of breed, the dogs are way too aggressive to be at a dog park.

    Just what we needed

3 acres is plenty of space to socialize and not lose track of your pup “letting loose”... if ya know what I mean. We are super happy we visited and look forward to many more.

    good size

We were visiting for the weekend and this park was perfect! There were probably 5 other dogs there and it didn’t feel crowded and not to mention there’s a beer garden next door it made for the perfect afternoon!

    So Nice!

This dog park is rather large for being so close to downtown (3 acres). We come here at least 2 times per week so my Aussie can stretch his legs. The dogs are always nice and the park is very well maintained!

    Too many burrs

I have a havanese mix - small dog with long hair. We brought him to this park to play around before going to Barktoberfest. We spent about 15 minutes in there. It's a nice park and large enough for running. But after we left, we found 5 burrs matted up in his paws. This was just from running around in the small dog area. We won't be going there again.

    Estabrook Dog Park

The trails, ect are adjacent to the fenced in park, and are not the dog park itself, nice as they are to hike. In the dogpark there is whole row of Burdock gone to seed. Get that in your dog's coat and it's no fun getting it out. Constructed well, planted well, nice people.

    Great park

People say its too small, but how much room do you need?! 3 acres is plenty to let your dog run around. The people here are always friendly, and on a good day the park is usually pretty populated, It even features a small pavilion, benches, water dishes, and a few poop pick up stations. This is a weekly destination for me!
