    Perfect break from i95

There were three friendly old dogs in the big dog park so our two bichons frises joined them without any problem — it is true that the small dog area is very small. Well kept, shady park, and we walked around the sports fields too. We were ready and well stretched for the next leg of the journey.

    Fun times!

We found this gem on our second trip to St Augustine. It was perfect for our Malinios and chi/pittie mix to run off some energy. The fence is only 4 ft high, which normally is an issue for our Malinios because he can easily hop them, but behaved this time. There was plenty of shade, places for people to sit, water for the pups and a kiddie pool. Someone from the parks department was there to alert us he had just sprayed the small dog park area to prevent us from entering it. It was quiet and plenty of room for our boys to run around and play fetch/chase each other.

    Small-could be dangerous

Dog owners know if their dog is mean and they shouldn't take them to dog parks. A guy with a medium size black dog did not even get up off the bench 4 ft away to stop his dog from biting mine. RUINED MY VACATION. Never again

    Dave is gone

I was reading the reviews ... I come to this park pretty regularly. it is always friendly and clean. the people watch out for their dogs and clean up after them ... plus, they make sure water is available and that bags are there. all good. oh, and if you read the old reviews about Dave and Bo, be aware that he no longer comes.

    Peaceful And Fun

Big fenced in area for big dogs and also a small area for smaller dogs. Sitting in the sun and the shade. In the back of the park so there’s not a lot of cars. Dog had a good time. there were dog bowls and balls in the fenced in area.

    Just right

A little bit of everything you need for a good romp, if you're not looking for a fancy park: grass, dirt, large dog area, small dog area, water hose, kiddy pool, random tennis balls, sun, shade, gazebo for the bipeds. We give this park a solid 5 bones!

    GREAT PARK

Great park , and very friendly people . Except on beware of Dave and his dog Bo. More than one person has left the park with there dog and not returned do to him and his dog. He has hit, kicked and verbaly abused other peoples dogs. If you do go which you should. Dont go between 3-430 thats when Dave is there. Other than Dave, beautiful park with pool and lots of water and seating .

    Short Fence

I hate to be negative, because any place for a dog to safely stretch his legs and get some exercise is a good thing. Both the large and small dog parks were very small. Big dog park is about the size of a typical small dog park. But if its all you've got or all you need, it is OK. Size aside, my biggest problem is the height of the fencing in the big dog run is 4' as you can see on one of the posted photos. If you have a dog with any urge to climb, don't take it to this park! Also, the gate latch on the far end was broken, and the gate was being held shut with a wire (poorly I might add). Wouldn't take much more than a bump from a big dog to open the gate. I stopped at several parks in Florida during a 2 week trip through the state, and this by far was the smallest and worst for the needs of bigger dogs. I will not return to this one, specially since there are other nicer parks in the area.

    Pomar Dog Park

This park was lovely. Huge shade trees and lovely people! There was lots of water and we made lots of friends. Was a little small, but the dogs are just in clumps at the gate anyway :)
I have been travelling with my dog this year from the Canadian east coast to the Florida Keys to Western Florida and back to Buffalo. We have visited many many dog parks along the way. This rates in the top 10!

    Shady

This place is super shady, and I'm not talking about trees. The last time I was there a man in a pick-up truck was speeding around the park with his 80lb off-leash pitbull chasing his truck. I've been around large dogs my entire life but this definitely made me nervous. VERY small small dog area, not very big large dog area either. No water so make sure you bring your own. Hoping to have a better experience next time.

    Small but nice

The park is pretty small for my boxer to stretch her legs, but is just perfect for my terrier, and the boxer doesn't complain much anyway. It is clean, and the people that I saw all were friendly and responsible. I was thinking that it was in a pretty rough neighborhood, but my dogs and I felt very safe. Overall, its not too bad. They have a small kiddie swimming pool, and a water hose so make sure to keep a towel in your car! Hope to see you there.
