During this time, leashed pets are permitted to the left of the boardwalk (as you approach the beach). Fido is not allowed to the right of the boardwalk. Labeled as one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches of this area, Peterson Beach offers views along Sleeping Bear Point, Empire Bluff, and across to South Manitou Island on a clear day. Parking is limited, but spaces may be available along the gravel on Peterson Road. Please note, due to efforts to protect an endangered species the area is closed between April 15th until August 15th. See Details
