Atop the northern crest of the Santa Lucia Mountains, the trails encounter open oak savannas and spectacular vistas. Along the way, you will travel through maple-filled canyons, dense oak woodlands, and thick stands of chaparral. There are trails for nearly all abilities, from beginner to advanced hiker. Toro Park is Salinas' top location for horseback riding, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. 20+ miles of trails over 4756 acres. Over 100 geocache sites are located at Toro Park. It is also a popular spot for birding, and is a stop on the Central Coast Birding Trail.
