Pet Friendly Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area
Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area is a pet-friendly destination offering visitors the chance to enjoy 19,000 acres, 130 miles, of off-road tracks and paths on their motorcycles, All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV), dune buggies, and 4x4s. Your dog can join you too, but they must be on a leash and are not permitted to drive vehicles as they have no opposable thumbs. Hungry Valley is open all day, every day.
Pet Friendly Castaic Lake State Recreation Area
Castaic Lake State Recreation Area welcomes leashed dogs on the trails and at the picnic areas. Fido can enjoy the area, but they aren't permitted on the beaches or in the water at the lake. The 29 miles of shoreline sets this lake apart from others in the area. Castaic Lake has two bodies of water: the Lower lake for non-power boating and canoeing; and the Upper lake for sailing, power boating, water and jet skiing, and fishing. The Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is open from sunrise to sunset.
Pet Friendly Petro Wheeler Ridge
Has a full-service restaurant, open 24 hours, Iron Skillet, Subway, Arby's, Wendy's, Baskin Robbins, Country Store, and Minit Mart Store. This location has a dedicated area for pets that need some exercise or a rest break. Waste bags and trash receptacles are also available for easy cleanup. TA and Petro Travel Stores also carry a variety of pet care products.
Pet Friendly Fort Tejon State Historic Park
Fort Tejon State Historic Park is pet-friendly. Located in the Grapevine Canyon, this fort was originally garrisoned in 1854 as a military station to protect white settlers from raids by Native Americans in the area, and was abandoned ten years later. Fido is welcome to join you on the grounds as you explore the buildings that still remain mostly intact to this day. The park grounds are open from sunrise to sunset and the park itself is open from 9am to 4pm daily.
