The State Park is comprised of over 18,000 acres ranging from tidal wetlands to steep and rugged slopes. It features more than 120 miles of multi-use trails, protected state Wildlands, historic sites and more. Leashed and curbed pets are welcome in all undeveloped areas, as well as in the Dundee Creek Marina area, and in the Hammerman area—except for the sandy portion of the swimming beach from Memorial Day Weekend until after Labor Day. Gunpowder Falls State Park is open from sunrise to sunset. Certain activities are permitted outside of regular park hours, such as fishing, boat launch, and hunting where permitted.
