Granville Athletic Park - Jonesland Environmental Preserve The GAP is a great place to get some fresh air and enjoy the great outdoors. There are three miles of paved walking trails. The longest loop is 1.2 miles. There's a large picnic shelter and clean restrooms. There is also a playground with safe, modern equipment. There is ample parking as well. It also has an interesting history and is maintained by organic standards. All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. You must pick up after your pet. Pet Friendly Lake Devin
Lake Devin Lake Devin is a stocked public fishing lake that is open to the public. An NC Fishing License and a Lake Devin Fishing Permit are required to fish there. There are 2.5 miles of easy to moderate trails with overlooks and picnic areas along the trail. A concession and tackle shop is open seasonally (May-Aug). There is a large picnic shelter, an outdoor volleyball net, horseshoe pit, fishing pier and boat ramp available, but use of gas motors is currently prohibited. The picnic shelter can be reserved for a fee. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash and under control at all times. Pet waste must be picked up and disposed of. Dogs cannot be tied up, left unattended or left inside a vehicle at any time. Rabies vaccination must be current and on the collar. Aggressive breed dogs are not allowed. See Details
Hix Dog Park Bring Fido to Hix Dog Park to play off-leash! Located next to the Hix Recreation Complex and Oxford Civic Club Park, the Dog Park is fenced and features play equipment, shade, and a clean-up station. Dog owners are allowed two dogs per visit. Falls Lake Trail (Mountains-to-Sea Trail) The Falls Lake Trail (or Mountains-to-Sea Trail) is a moderately easy, 5.4-mile hike in Falls Lake State Recreation Area that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. This trail is only open to foot traffic, so you won't be sharing the trail with mountain bikers or horses. Please note that dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. . See Details
Woodland Nature Trail Woodland Nature Trail is an easy, 0.75-mile hike in Falls Lake State Recreation Area that will take about 40 minutes to complete with Fido. Make sure to pack some food to enjoy before or after your hike at Picnic Area 1, located right by the trailhead. This trail is bike free and offers beautiful color with blooming flowers in the spring and changing leaves in the fall. Sandling Beach is closed November 1 through March 15.
