West Milford Dog Park The West Milford Dog Park is located in Pequannock Feed and Pet Supply on Marshall Hill Rd in WM. The park is free, but donations will be gladly accepted to help maintain the property. This dog park is just about an acre big and has separate areas and entrances for large and small dogs. Water is available across the parking lot under the big sign that says "Water". There are some agility obstacles including tunnels, a jump, and an A-frame. The fence around the dog park varies between 5 and 6 feet tall (depending on the land) but is secure. The dog park is open during Pequannock Feed store hours only. Rules are posted. See Details
Kadampa Meditation Center Kadampa Meditation Center is pet-friendly. The public can enter this temple and use the nature trails. Swing by the cafe shop while you're there, too. Buddhists believe that walking around a Temple that houses a statue of Buddha brings great good fortune. It is called ‘circumambulating’ and is usually done in a clockwise direction. Appalachian Trail (Dutch Hollow & Harriman State Park) The Appalachian Trail in Dutch Hollow & Harriman State Park is a difficult, 11.15 mile hike that will take about 8.5 hours or overnight to complete with Fido. This is possibly one of the most challenging hikes on the Appalachian Trail, but also the most beautiful. Dogs must remain on a leash, and if you choose to camp you can setup at the Wildcat Shelter, which is 2.1 miles into the hike. See Details

Sterling Ridge to Lake Trail Loop Sterling Ridge to Lake Trail Loop is a moderately easy, 8.25 mile hike that will take about 5.25 hours to complete with Fido. This loop trail climbs to an active fire tower before traversing Sterling Ridge. After taking in the views from the ridge you and Fido can descend to Sterling Lake. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. See Details
Sunrise Mountain The parking lot at Sunrise Mountain is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Overnight parking is not permitted at this parking lot.

The crest of Sunrise Mountain is one of the most frequently visited sites in Stokes State Forest. The mountaintop provides a breathtaking view at an elevation of 1,653 feet above sea level. The thin soil and harsh climate characteristic of Sunrise Mountain is a difficult environment in which few plants can survive. Mountain laurel, wild blueberry, pitch pine and scrub oak are among the natural vegetation found throughout the area. The pavilion at the summit was built in the late 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Appalachian Trail runs along the ridge.

Paulinskill Valley Trail The Paulinskill Valley Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Lafayette! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Paulinskill Valley Trail.
