Sonoma Coast State Park Sonoma Coast State Park is home to a number of pet-friendly areas to enjoy. The long sandy beaches stretch out along a beautiful coastline of natural arches and secluded coves at this popular state park. Although dogs are not allowed to hang out on Goat Rock Beach, your leashed pup can join you on Blind Beach off the south parking loat at Goat Rock. Pet Friendly Point Reyes National Seashore
Point Reyes National Seashore Point Reyes National Seashore's shoreline spans 19 miles with several dog friendly areas including Limantour and Kehoe Beach. If you bring a dog, or any other pet, to the park, please observe the park's rules of having Fido a leash no longer than six feet at all times. Pets are allowed in the Bear Valley Visitor Center parking lot and picnic area. Pets are not permitted in public buildings, on public transportation vehicles, or in locations designated as a swimming beach, or within any structure or area closed to the possession of pets by the superintendent. All trails within the park are closed to pets—with the exception of Kehoe Beach trail and designated trails in the neighboring Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Pets are also permitted on the trails and roads within the Niman Ranch/Commonweal area south of the Commonweal entrance road and west of Mesa road. Pets are allowed on the following ocean-facing beaches throughout the year: Kehoe Beach - north of the Kehoe Beach trail; Limantour Beach - southeast of the parking lot to the beach adjacent to Coast Camp; Point Reyes/Great Beach - from the North Beach parking lot south to the historic Navy installation/lifeboat station located approximately one mile south of the South Beach parking lot. Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve allows leashed dogs on the main, paved road, in one of the developed picnic areas, and one of the developed picnic areas at Bullfrog Pond Campground. If camping, your pet will need to stay in your tent or in your vehicle overnight. The tallest tree in the park is over 310 feet high and the oldest tree is said to be around 1400 years old. Unfortunately, pets are not permitted inside any of the buildings on the site. This historic park is there to remember the varied past of the area, including the long formation of the coast, the Kashia Pomo people who have lived here for centuries, the era of Russian colonization, and the Ranch era.
