Pet Friendly Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve
Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve, a former dairy farm, is a dog-friendly spot you can take your pooch to in New Jersey. The prime aim of this area of natural habitat is to preserve, protect, and grow the natural life that exists in the state, both animals and plants. You and your pooch can go on a nature walk on one of the trails, check out the exteriors of the old buildings that still stand there, and admire the vast array of colorful flowers when they bloom. The area is often known as the Raritan Headwaters. Dogs are welcome on a leash under six feet, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. Fairview is open every day of the week from dawn until dusk.
Pet Friendly Alstede Farms Pumpkin Picking
At Alstede Farms, we understand your pet is part of the family and many of our customers like to bring their pets with them to the farm to shop for fresh fruit and vegetables. Pets must be leashed at all times, non-aggressive, and properly vaccinated. Dogs are not permitted in the picking areas.
Pet Friendly Hopatcong State Park

This 9-mile park contains 2,500 acres of freshwater in the form of Lake Hopatcong, a popular spot for fishing, boating, and swimming. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on the beach at this state park. Dogs are welcome to join their owners on a leash, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. You can access the park every day of the week from 8am to 8pm.
Pet Friendly Hacklebarney State Park
Hacklebarney State Park is dog-friendly. Located between Long Valley and Chester in Morris County, the centerpiece of this secluded park is the gushing river that works its way through the towering trees and glacial valley. There are a number of hiking trails and picnic areas along the shoreline for you to enjoy together. You and your pooch may run into a deer or even a bear, so make sure you keep Fido on a leash for the duration of their visit. To preserve the cleanliness of the water and the surrounding area, please clean up any mess that your pooch leaves behind.
