Reid State Park Dogs are welcome to join their owners at Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine. This pet-friendly park is popular among visitors because of the white sandy beaches. When you visit Griffith Head in the park, you'll discover a rocky headland that overlooks the rest of the park and a number of seascapes. There are a number of lighthouses in the area as well, including on Sequin Island and Hendricks Head. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on State Park beaches in Maine between April 1 and September 30. You can bring Fido with you around the park if they are on a leash under six feet, as long as you clean up any mess after them. Reid State Park is open every day of the week from 9am until 5pm. The main attraction of this state park is the luscious sandy beach that stretches along the mouth of the Kennebec River. There are plenty of pretty picnic spots at this park that you can enjoy with Fido, as long as they are on a leash under six feet and owners clean up any mess that they leave behind. Sunday River Chondola Fido can take to the sky in the Sunday River Chondola. Dogs that are leashed or under voice command are able to ride for free on the scenic lift. On their return, guests can choose to ride back down in a gondola cabin or hike one of Sunday River's trails. Scenic lift rides run Thursday to Sunday from June 28 to September 2, and Friday to Sunday from September 7 to October 7. Sunday River Chondola hours are 10am to 4pm. Range Pond State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners at Range Pond State Park in Poland, Maine. Located along the northeast shore of beautiful Lower Range Pond, you'll discover a sand beach swim area and a picnic spot that overlooks the water. There are a couple of pet-friendly trails that weave around the park as well, including Old Fields Trail that loops through the pine forest at Range Pond and the Railroad Trail that leads through old logging roads and railroad beds, with just one short hill. Visitors should be aware that pets aren't allowed on State Park beaches between April 1 and September 30. This forested lakeside park is 1,400 acres in size, featuring sandy beaches, extensive woodlands, ponds, bogs, and a river. This varied habitat is great for promoting diverse plants and animals, including bald eagles and white-tailed deer, making the area ideal for wildlife spotters and ornithologists. Geary Brewing Company Dogs are welcome at Geary Brewing Company in Portland, Maine. As the first craft brewery in New England, they started brewing beers in the early 80s and sold their first pint of pale ale in 1986. These days, the tasting room offers up a whole host of contemporary beers to compliment their heritage line of timeless English ales. Vaughn Woods State Park Dogs are allowed to join their owners on the trails at Vaughn Woods State Park. This pet-friendly public recreation area is a 165-acre forested tract along the banks of Salmon Falls River. There are three miles of hiking trails that loop through old-growth stands of pine and hemlock that can be used by dogs and their owners. You can stop en route for a bite to eat in the shade of the tall trees at one of the picnic areas.
