All American Rose Garden Located on the front entrance of the University of Southern Mississippi, you will find one of the most beautiful, colorful, and fragrant collections of roses in the state. Hosting 750 varieties of in the extravangant garden, you and your dog can come and enjoy them all. While your leashed dog is allowed on the campus grounds, the dogs are not allowed in any of the buildings. See Details
Brees Bark Park The dog park is 1.68 acres of fenced area for dogs to run and play off-leash. It features a separate small dog area with play equipment, a splash pool in the large dog area, walking paths, built-in benches, poop stations and shaded areas with log benches. It is located next to the CARA Animal Shelter, 960 Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS. Membership is $33 per Quarter for the first dog & an extra $3.00 for each additional dog. Biloxi Shrimping Trip Biloxi Shrimping Trip is pet-friendly. You can learn all about the shrimping industry on this great hour-long tour. They are made up of a crew of dog lovers with a great knowledge of the Gulf Coast and the surrounding waterways. The waters are calm and you might even spot a few dolphins along the way. River Dog's Park This park is sort of hard to find. It's located north of Hwy 90 on Lowry Island just west of the bridge connecting Gautier and Pascagoula. Access is gained by exiting Hwy 90 towards Ingalls shipyard on Jerry St Pé Hwy. Then follow the signs to the park. There are two fenced in dog parks for small and large dogs. The parks are somewhat small. There are some fun wooden ramps and 'caves' as well as 'real' fire hydrants for the dogs. There are doggie bags and waste receptacles to help with picking up after the dogs. See Details
Riverfront Park This lovely park is set on the banks of the Mississippi, and includes picnic tables, barbecue areas, and playgrounds. Your pet is welcome on-leash. See Details
Gulfport Premium Outlets The mall offers a number of high end shops. The exterior areas has plenty of grass for dogs and there are numerous benches in front of the stores where one could sit with their animal. However, ALL the stores we saw had signs prohibiting animals from entering the stores (except service animals). Also, this mall must be near an active airport. We were there between 1 and 3 pm. During that time there were a number of VERY loud military jets that flew low directly over the mall. They were either landing or taking off very close-by. The nose of those jets was extremely "tough" on our dog's ears. See Details

Shepard State Park Bark Park The Bark Park has a covered picnic table plus wooden run ramps for the dogs. The fenced in area is best for small & medium sized dogs. There is no intermediate area for gaining access to the park so be mindful of other dogs. There are helpful tools and waste bins for picking up after dogs. See Details
Longleaf Trace The Longleaf Trace is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Hattiesburg! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Longleaf Trace. Thacker Mountain Rail-Trail The Thacker Mountain Rail-Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Oxford! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Thacker Mountain Rail-Trail. Gulf Islands National Seashore Certain areas of Gulf Islands National Seashore are dog-friendly! Leashed dogs are allowed on trails, multi-use paths, and on park roads. They are also allowed to be tied to fixed objects in the Davis Bayou and Fort Pickens Campgrounds, if their leash is less than six feet long, the pet is quiet, and out of harm's way. Pets must be cleaned up after during their visit. Dog owners can check out Gulf Islands National Seashore's official website to find operating hours and entrance fees for specific areas of the Seashore. Dogs are NOT allowed on all park beaches and in water less than five feet in Florida; on all beaches of the Mississippi barrier islands and in water less than five feet surrounding the islands; and in the forts or visitor use facilities, such as pavilions, fishing and ferry piers, and visitor centers.
