Take Fido for an adventure through dog-friendly Arcata Community Forest in Arcata, CA. Comprised of 793 acres of towering redwoods, the forest is popular with hikers, cyclists, runners and horseback riders. Leashed dogs can join you to explore 11 miles of multi-use trails. While camping is prohibited, they offer several access points to the forest, including a parking area and trailhead at the junction of Fickle Hill Road and Ficklehill Lane.

Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, located within Dunsmuir City Park in Dunsmuir, CA is pet friendly. Your leashed pup is welcome to tag along to explore over ten acres of hilly, wooded terrain and a meadow. Picnic spots are also situated along the scenic Upper Sacramento River.

Hiller Park is a dog-friendly park in the community of McKinleyville, CA. This 36-acre park offers 1.5 miles of trails to explore with Fido, and a designated off-leash area anywhere west of the split rail fence. Facilities include a children's playground, picnic tables, a barbecue area, and restrooms. The park is open from 8am to 8pm daily, and the gates are locked promptly at 8.15pm.

Francis Shrader Old Growth Trail is a pet-friendly path in Gold Beach, OR. It's a moderately easy, 1.5-mile hike in Siskiyou National Forest that will take about 1 hour to complete with Fido. Signs of logging operations are prevalent on the drive to this trail. Hiking this short trail will be a pleasant escape to enjoy the unspoiled forest and its blooming rhododendron. Please note that dogs must be on leash.

Visit the pet-friendly Castle Crags State Park in Castella, CA. Your leashed pup is welcome to join you on the paved roadways, campgrounds and parking lots. Pups are not permitted on the trails or day-use areas.
