If you’re looking for a pot of gold or just a wee bit of luck this March, try one of these dog-friendly events! Bring your pooch along to watch a parade, get worn out at a 5K, dress to impress at a garden “paw-ty” or socialize with other pups at a beer festival during these dog-friendly gatherings to mark on Fido’s calendar this month.

Asbury Park St. Patrick's Day Parade

Asbury Park, NJ
A parade that both pups and people can enjoy!

Asbury Park St. Patrick's Day Parade returns to the seaside city this March. The annual event attracts thousands of visitors ready to kick off the spring and summer seasons. Floats and entries include dance teams, marching bands, animal rescue groups, classic cars, Asbury Park's beloved zombies and so much more. The parade route starts at 5th and Ocean Avenues and continues down the coastline to Cookman Avenue. Everyone is welcome to watch or participate, including Fido. Afterward, swing by dog-friendly Wonder Bar for the Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade After Party and enjoy live music and delicious food and drinks.

Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place on March 12 starting at 1 p.m. The Asbury Hotel is within walking distance of the parade, so you won’t have to miss a minute.

Barks & Brews Beer Festival

San Diego, CA
Keeping the people and their furry friends entertained!

San Diego’s Barks & Brews Beer Festival at Waterfront Park is a great place to enjoy unlimited beer tastings from over 25 local breweries. Bring Fido along to shop from local boutiques and pet vendors, listen to live music, and grab a bite from one of the local food vendors serving some of San Diego’s best eats. Dogs can run leash-free in two designated fenced areas, and competitive canines can enter the contests for Best Dressed in a St. Patrick’s Day Costume or Best Talent.

Barks & Brews Beer Festival takes place on March 18, and humans must be 21 to attend. Book a pet-friendly room at the Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown for a quick walk across the street to the festival.

Hills Are Alive Trail Run/Walk/Canicross

Lake Geneva, WI
“I’ll lead the way!”

Fido can join you for a cross-country trail run at the Hills Are Alive Trail Run/Walk/Canicross in Lake Geneva. Runners, walkers and enthusiastic canines are welcome to enter the 4- or 8-mile events on scenic single-track trails, while the 12- and 16-mile routes are reserved for seasoned runners and athletic four-legged companions only. If you prefer to run as a family or with multiple dogs, sign up for the 16-mile relay instead. The race is held on a beautiful 100-acre property, and runners should expect some challenging hills.

The Hills Are Alive Trail Run/Walk/Canicross will be held on March 19. Stay the night nearby at The Ridge Hotel and enjoy views of Lake Como.

Paws on Parade, The Official Dog Garden Paw-ty

Dressed to impress!

Paws on Parade, The Official Dog Garden Paw-ty is a celebration for Wilmington pups and their humans during the North Carolina Azalea Festival. Bring your pup for a fun day in the park at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, featuring live music, food and drinks. Fido can “pawticipate” in the Canine Court Pageant in categories like Best Howler, Best Trick, Best Dressed, and Looks Only a Mama Could Love. Afterward, he can sit for a professional dog portrait, stop by the puppy kissing booth and shop from pet vendors.

Paws on Parade, The Official Dog Garden Paw-ty will be held on March 18. Reserve a stay at Best Western Plus Coastline Inn, where you can enjoy a view of the Cape Fear River.

Annual Pints n' Paws Craft Beer Festival

Mark your calendars for the Annual Pints n' Paws Craft Beer Festival, an annual event in beautiful Historic Downtown Sanford. Bring Fido along as you sample craft beer from over 100 breweries and grab a bite to eat from one of the many food trucks. While your pup makes new friends, you can interact with other pet lovers, listen to live music, and enter to win great prizes, all while helping to raise funds for local pet charities.

The Annual Pints n' Paws Craft Beer Festival will be held on March 25 and tickets must be purchased online. Stay at Hampton Inn and Suites Lake Mary at Colonial Townpark and enjoy the short drive into downtown Sanford for the festival.

Lucky Dog 5K

Indianapolis, IN
“Three pups ready for a nap!”

Bring Fido out for the Lucky Dog 5K in downtown Indianapolis. Taking place at Military Park inside White River State Park, this K-9-themed run and walk benefits Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation. Enjoy scenic views of the state park and Indy skyline during the timed race, and refuel on human and canine treats at the finish line. Four-legged participants can score awesome swag including a medal, dog hoodie and treats, and two-legged participants will also receive a medal and a T-shirt.

The Lucky Dog 5K will be held at Military Park on March 11. Enjoy views overlooking Central Canal from a room at Residence Inn Indianapolis Downtown on the Canal. This pet-friendly hotel is located just down the street from the race starting line.
