Activities

Get out and play! There are 30 dog friendly activities in Hawaii. You'll find information on our favorite dog parks, beaches, hiking trails, tours, stores, and lots of other "animal attractions" below.

Moanalua Dog Park

This dog park is central to residents in the Honolulu and Leeward areas. It's minutes from the windward side of Oahu. It offers lots of running space for dogs and picnic tables for their owners. There is access to fresh water on site and several trash receptacles. The park is clean, cool and very well manicured. It is a great place for dogs to socialize as well as their owners. This park is 2 thumbs up!

Kailua Beach Park

Leashed dogs are welcome to join you at this beach with gorgeous white sands and turquoise water. In order for the community to continue to support sharing the shoreline with dogs, great care must be taken to ensure responsibility and respect for all beach goers. Owners are responsible for their dog’s actions. The law requires that all dogs wear their county-issued license tag as identification and that pet waste must be disposed of. Violations can results in citations and fines issued by the police.

Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline

Leash Fido up for a hike along the gorgeous Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline. This two-mile round-trip hike is beautiful any time of the year, but migrating whales make the hike extra special in season. This paved trail can be hot, dry, and windy. Make sure to bring plenty of water for yourself and your pup.

Mahiku Farmers Market

Bring your leashed pup to the Mahiku Farmers Market where you can browse for fresh local produce, flowers, plants, food, crafts, and artworks. With three weekly markets in Honolulu, you can enjoy fresh food throughout the week.
