Whiskers, Wings & Wagging Tails, a Pet Fair

The City of Redmond will host a pet fair, Whiskers, Wings & Wagging Tails, on Saturday, May 15 from 10am to 2pm at the Redmond Senior Center. Pets have become an important part of the family over the last decade, and this fair is designed to help all those interested in animals to learn the best ways to look after and love their pet. The Delta Society and the King County Library will share the "Tails & Tales" corner where kids may hear a story about animals, do a craft or color, and spend time with a friendly dog and it's handler. We will have Redmond's first StoryWalkTM as a part of the Pet Fair. StoryWalkTM is an exciting program that combines a children's story with a popular walking route. Pages from children's books are placed at regular intervals along paths so readers can follow the story as they walk the route. StoryWalkTM helps build children's interest in reading while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for both children and adults. The StoryWalkTM will start at the RSC and circle the Municipal Campus. The book featured is "Don't Lick the Dog" by Bellevue author Wendy Wahman. Wendy will make an appearance at the event from 12-2pm to share the Walk. Bring your copy of "Don't Lick the Dog" for the author to sign. There will be animals here for adoption from Seattle Humane, The Humane Society for Seattle/King County - their MaxMobile van will be out front of the Senior Center, King County Animal Control and Care, Homeward Pet, MEOW Cat Rescue, and Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. Many local trainers, boarding facilities, and veterinarians will have information booths. Redmond's newest pet store, Pet Pros, will be there to give away lots of samples and gift cards.
