Description

Join Kriss Kringle aboard the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway on one of the best pet-friendly scenic train rides in the country at the Santa Claus Special. Climb aboard an enclosed or open-air coach from the 1920s for a 16-mile journey through the beautiful Pennsylvania wilderness, accompanied by Saint Nick himself. On the one-hour narrated train ride, you’ll learn about anthracite coal’s role in the industrial revolution and enjoy stunning views of the Lehigh Gorge. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to ride the train free of charge.

Wonderful Christmas activity with your dog!
My husband and I had a wonderful ride on the Santa Claus Special with our black lab. Everyone was so welcoming and he had more treats than ever from Santa, the conductor and all the great volunteers on the train! Jim Thorpe is a quaint little town, and dogs are welcomed in many shops, including the Harry Potter themed coffee shop. We had a great time and our pup loved all the attention!
