July 4th Pet Parade & Old Fashioned Festival

Bring Fido and come celebrate our country’s independence on July 4th with Bend Park & Recreation! Start out your day’s festivities with the Pet Parade through downtown Bend then follow up with the Old Fashioned July 4th Festival in Drake Park from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Parade Participants: Kids of all ages are invited to participate. Come dressed in costume with your pet or stuffed animal on pulled wagons, floats, bikes or trikes. • Kids will receive a keepsake and popsicle. • No registration necessary. Lineup is downtown on Wall Street next to the School Administration building. • Pet must be leashed – you are responsible for your pet. No rabbits, cats or aggressive dogs. • Do not give away animals. • No solicitation, commercial floats, banners, motorized vehicles, motorcycles or distribution on anything to spectators.

Wine & Woofs: Canines Uncorked

This 8th annual event highlights 15 North Willamette Valley wineries where dogs are counted among the guests of honor. A “License to Taste” passport includes free wine tastings at each participating winery, dog activities, and two complimentary tasting cards valid at all participating wineries during the month of August. This event is a benefit for shelter animals.

Columbia Gorge Marathon and Half Marathon - Ruffwear Dog Leg

One of the most scenic marathons and half marathons in the country, the Columbia Gorge Marathon will take your breath away with the amazing fall colors, spectacular views, and incredible food. Owners and dogs will only be allowed to enter the Columbia Gorge Half Marathon. Ensure your dog has the fitness and well behaved manner needed to do the event. The owner and the dog will each receive an individually registered timing chip. This will allow a category and its own reporting for the dogs. There will be special random prizes awarded as finishers cross the line and a raffle for Dog Leg participants held at the finish ceremony with Ruffwear and The Honest Kitchen products given as prizes. The Ruffwear Dog Leg will start as the last wave in the Half Marathon.
