- JeanneJan. 31, 2021Great experience!
We accompanied our dog Roxann to 4 Paws on the last weekend they were open. We stayed in Stella, one of the permanent cabins that was surprisingly well equipped and comfortable, and Roxann loved being able to meander around our site without our having to worry about her. It was COLD that weekend, but the trees were still very colorful. The campfire was GREAT - even though Roxann, who is afraid of the slightest noise, took a while to get used to it. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable, relaxing, and peaceful weekend - and plan to go back in the spring. Thanks to the new owners and management team for a fun weekend for two older folks and their beloved dog!
- JulianneJan. 10, 2021Extremely Disappointed
My most recent stay was the weekend of 11/13/20-11/16/20. My mother and I booked a cabin and one of the permanent RV’s. Since November 13, 2020 was the 7th anniversary of my daughter’s death we needed a relaxing getaway, particularly since COVID had dashed any dreams of a real vacation this year. I stayed in the RV with my two corgis (and two kittens) and my mom stayed in the cabin with her two corgis. The night we arrived (Friday) we put the dogs on the deck of the RV so that I could get the kittens settled in. The dogs were barking because there was a crowd at the fire pit talking and laughing. I was aware and monitoring them and had every intention of bringing them in as soon as I was done with getting things settled. After about 15-20 minutes we hear someone calling us outside so when I stepped out they asked if we were missing a corgi. One of my mother’s corgis had somehow gotten out, off the deck. I went with leash in hand and retrieved her. I was then lectured on making sure I supervise the dogs and if they are outside one of us must be out with them. The last thing said to me was “I need to know you’ve got this.” It was very condescending and upsetting. On Sunday morning we were sitting on the deck with the dogs and all of a sudden I see my mom’s corgi (same one) running around outside of our fenced area. We were supervising the dogs, as requested, and yet here she is running around. I again retrieved her and secured her in the RV with the other dogs while my mother and I did a search of how she could be getting out. There were no holes in the yard fence. She couldn’t have jumped the railing, she’s a corgi. I started looking for an opening around the RV. Sure enough there was a huge opening under the steps to the door of the RV!!! I was furious!!! We starting picking up large rocks from the yard and used some of our firewood to barricade the opening. My mother called the office to let them know. They came out, looked at it and basically blew it off saying they’d fix it after we left. No apology for the broken opening or for chastising us for something that wasn’t our fault!! The dog could have seriously injured herself underneath that RV.
We had stayed at 4Paws once before in 2019 and had such an incredible experience that we spent weeks looking forward to this visit only to be completely disappointed. The RV was poorly maintained. We left so disappointed that we do not plan on going back anytime soon.
It should be noted that only a couple of weeks after our stay it was announced that Connie and Sandy had sold 4Paws to another couple. I felt like this explained why everything seemed so subpar from our last visit.
We spent almost $700 for this weekend, not to mention the gas and expense to get there and if we had been able to, we would have just left Sunday morning. I was disgusted with how this was handled.
I hope the new owners are more conscientious about maintaining the property.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time with our dog. It's an adult only park with little cabins, yurts, and hookups for RV's. The park includes several dog parks in which the fur babies can play. My husband and I could not stop smiling at all the frolicking and action between our dog and other dogs. They have a pond in which puppies can swim, and a dedicated dog wash station to wash off all the FUN afterwards. Everyone is so nice here and we will DEFINITELY be back.
- ChelseaAug. 30, 2019Great Stay with Dogs!
Our family loved it here! We have 2 boxers 14 months old and they loved being able to run around in the parks. They enjoyed swimming at the dog pond park too and getting to know the owners! The park is so well kept and clean, and the campsite we stayed at had a deck with a fenced area for our boys. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay!!

Been traveling in a 19ft campervan for two weeks with two dogs and two adults. We needed a break and got that break and more.
Bathrooms are clean and ac. Dog parks are incredible. Staff is friendly.
We'd stay forever if we could. No idea how to keep this place so well maintained. There are not allot of campers here, a weekend after July. So the dogs have most of it to themselves.
100% awesome. I work with rescues, and I will send all my dog loving friends here for now on.

Everything is built with dogs in mind - there is even a service to check on/walk your dog if you're out for the day. The dog parks are perfect for old dogs like mine (he did the agility course yay!), swimmers, athletic dogs and everything in between. We stayed in the yurt which was clean, welcoming and well stocked. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and the camp store is well supplied. Super quiet at night, convenient to the horse park & dog-friendly wineries. Perfect places to make memories w/ your dog(s) w/ dog savvy, outgoing staff.

We spent 4 nights here in a travel trailer. Ignore the poor ratings. The people here are fabulous. We added a day with no hassle when on the road. We cancelled a day when we encountered an emergency, no problem.
The sites here are quite large. They have Rv sites, campers for rent, cabins for rent and yurts.
7 dog parks that are completely fenced in including big dog, little dog, main, agility, lure, private and pond.
Each werkend they have activities. We were here during a 4th of July weekend and the pulled chicken dinner was amazing!
Bathrooms are spotless. Rv sites have water, sewer, electric, WiFi and they pick up garbage from your site twice a day.
Firewood and ice are delivered to your site.
AT&T has no signal here.
No one under 18 allowed.

One of the best campgrounds I have ever camped in! Sandy and Connie know the true meaning of customer service.
We camped in site #12 (Benji) for three fun filled nights. Our dog, Pasha, took full advantage of all of the amenities #FourPaws had to offer. She swam in the lake, played with her other four pawed friends in the dog park, and enjoyed shopping in the store for snacks. The fenced area at our site was an added bonus.
Bark-or-treating was the highlight of our stay. We'll definitely be back next Halloween weekend.
- MarilynMore than a year agoQuestion the Other Reviews on This Site
The two 1-bone reviews that have recently been posted on this site don't sound like the Connie & Sandy we know. They have always been more than accommodating for any issues that arise with reservations. We would recommend that you call Four Paws to discuss any concerns you might have after reading these reviews. In our opinion, these two reviewers must have done something pretty bad to get that kind of reaction from them.

This campground is awesome! Clean, well-kept, and over-the-top amenities for dogs and their humans. The owners and volunteers are great ... They go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great time. Thanks for an awesome stay!
- SueMore than a year agoBad policies, communication and customer service
I booked a 2 week cabin stay, a year in advance. Discussed adjusting my stay by 1-2 days, once the local event I was attending confirmed their dates. C***** told me over the phone that she would be happy to make date/fee adjustments. I paid a deposit and was told the balance was due at check-in.
Event dates confirmed, I contacted to adjust the reservation by 2 days to reduce the cost, as per our phone conversation.
She responded that the reservation now fell during a “special event.” She charged me a standard “weekly” rate, when she should have charged me a higher “special event” rate, therefore she would remove 2 days from the reservation but would not deduct from the remaining balance. She said the balance was now due 4 months prior to check-in.
If I had realized my booking was “weekly”, then I would not have asked for the 2 day reduction - obviously I would have preferred to stay longer. I stated that, and asked why the balance was now due early. (During our prior phone conversation she said it was due at check-in. The footer in her emails states check-in).
She informed me that the changes were “special event policies” (unknown to me at the time of booking) and that I would have to pay an additional $238 to KEEP those 2 days in the booking.
I felt a little insulted and told her I was disappointed in the $238 fee to keep my full booking. While I found it rather strange to change the balance due date, I had no problem paying in full early. At NO time did I ask to waive the $238 fee or cancel the reservation.
To my shock, I received a voicemail 2 hours later stating she was cancelling my reservation because I expressed “disappointment”. She said “We don’t want you to come with bad feelings or have anything happen once you’re here”. (No idea what that last part is implying??)
Flabbergasted, I called. Of course I was disappointed in the charge. Of course I was surprised that my balance was due early. I never contested her policies, but felt it was within my right to ask questions and understand the changes. I certainly had not cancelled the reservation. She said, “I know, I’M cancelling it right now”.
I received a snarky follow up email that said she would give a refund and accused me of trying to take advantage of her by “adding 2 days back” to my reservation. (Remember - she told me I could keep the full reservation IF I paid an extra $238, despite admitting that the standard weekly rate included those days, OR I could have chosen not to stay those two days and not been required to pay the $238. I can’t understand how either option would have been taking advantage of HER.) She also reminded me that she had the right to raise her rates at any time. (And apparently does.)
I had read several negative reviews from others regarding this business, but thought perhaps someone was just having a bad day. Instead, it appears to be bad policies and customer service. Perhaps I dodged a bullet, and hope anyone reading this will as well.
