I wish we’d known the first and second floors were being renovated and weren’t available. Furthermore, only one elevator was operating. This pretty much ruined our trip. We had our dogs with us and taking them down 3 flights of stairs was a royal pain, since there was construction gear in the stairwell. If there had been a first-floor room available this would’ve been a great stay, but if you check and they are still renovating, I would definitely look elsewhere.

The spaces were fine, but the hotel was not well run. My fridge was broken, when I went by the front desk there was rarely anyone there, and sometimes lines of people waiting with no attendant. I asked a front desk attendant if my IGH number was on my listing, and she told me to look it up myself and tell someone if there was a problem. The hotel is next to a dog park, but the park is not entirely fenced in. They did have a reasonable dog fee. But I probably would not stay here again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here with our pup. The room was clean and nice. The bed was comfy. The hotel staff was pleasant. It’s no frills but it’s nice. The biggest bonus was the off leash area; not really a dog park, per se, but a very dog-friendly and safe hiking path bordered by a hill on one side and a creek on the other. Our dog had a blast. Lots of extra fees added on so check that out first.

The dog rooms are located on the 2nd floor, accessible only by the elevator. The keypad to access the stairs from the outside was not functioning. The hotel staff were unable to fix the problem. The hotel charged dog fee, but also a parking fee. Staff were friendly but not knowledgeable about the hotel. Lobby had coffee and water but no drinking cups. The room was noisy due to thin walls. I would not recommend this hotel if traveling with dogs.

Nice area. Able to walk along river. Hotel upgraded room to include a fireplace when I got there. Area on side of hotel to sit and enjoy scenery and weather.

I have two 65 lb border collies and they were welcomed by the staff. Facilities were great and the best part is that at the end of the east parking area is a HUGE off leash dog area for your babies. I’d stay here again!

It was quiet and clean! The restaurant downstairs was delicious and fast. There is a large open space “dog play” area which is great except that one of ours is quite nervous around off leash dogs. Other than that area there’s not really any great spots to walk and potty for the pups. Overall a pretty nice night!

Loved this hotel!!! Almost booked Econo Lodge but reviews said rooms too hot. So glad we stayed here! Worth the extra money. Sooo much nicer! They even upgraded us to a room with a fireplace. Very close to the best off-leash dog park we’ve ever been to - our dog is still thanking us! And only blocks to downtown. Great night in Durango!!

We had a good time here. The hotel amenities were very nice and we were able to leave our dogs in the room while we went to the Durango Hot Springs with no issues. Would stay here again.

Check-in was supposed to be 3:00, but when we got there just a few minutes after 3, our room wasn't ready for another 30 minutes or so. Otherwise, the room was very clean. Grassy area on the side of the building. There is a dog park nearby too.

I’m sure it’s nice but they will not guarantee you a dog-friendly room. We made reservation. Website said to call about availability of dog-friendly room. We did and they noted that in our record. We checked a couple of days ahead and we’re told that was in our record but they would not confirm that we would get dog-friendly room. We could not take that chance so we had to cancel and stay elsewhere.

We arrived and were greeted by Jannel, who happens to be a dog owner herself. She was full of information about dogs and the dog friendly town of Durango, We took many of her suggestions and they were right on. This Holiday Inn is centrally located and just would you would expect of clean hospitable accommodations for you and you loving dog. I give it 5 bones with out any hesitation.

This was our first hotel stay with my 70 pound pup. The hotel staff was great on check in, the room was nice and it was great they take all size animals. There was a little more on the pet form you fill out at the desk than what I found on line so it would have been great to get a copy of that in advance so you can be prepared. Our only issue was that the mask wearing was pretty lax in the restaurant and my friend who was picking up our food said the waitress wasn't wearing one at all. Our dinner got a little messed up too but I don't want to hold what happened there against the hotel itself. As far as a place to stay while traveling with your larger dog I give the hotel a thumbs up.
