- DawnSep 25, 2023Great location and staff
The location to ideal to visiting Myrtle Beach. Literally right across the street from the beach. The hotel has 4 floors and all rooms face the beach. The higher the floor the better the view. We stayed on the top floor. There is no elevator but I didn’t mind the climbing of the stairs, it’s good for the legs. Jeff, who I assume is part of the family that owns the place was very pleasant. My 4 pound dog, Lola, was very welcome.

Hassle free people were easy going. Overall great experience.
- CoreyAug 14, 2022Always a winner!
Super Nice family owned and operated hotel/cottages. Clean rooms and nice prices!
- KenApr 18, 2022Nice place, good people
Great location, walk to beach or boardwalk. Totally pet friendly. Balcony rooms look right out on beach.
- RorySep 12, 2021Friendly staff
Great staff...Terry and Tina are both amazing. Our dog was showered with love and the accommodations were adequate. The courtyard is super cute and the pool is very clean. The only cons were no elevator, but the view was incredible on the 4th floor. The location is hard to get over. A lot of shady activity and people. Doesn't give you a safe vibe. Location to the beach was awesome, location to the squatters and tweakers was scary at best. But, there are cameras.
- MichaelMay 6, 2021Great Location
Great place if you have dogs —-every room has a balcony that faces the ocean. 2 min walk to the beach and your pets can be on the beach before 10am and after 5pm. property manager was extremely friendly and kind - great example of of a family run business
- MorganApr 10, 2021Great doggie hotel
we were able to snag a special room that only had one bed and a couch. it was perfect for my boyfriend myself and our dog. Great location as you’re only a couple blocks away from the main shopping strip and cross the street from the boardwalk. This hotel let us keep our dog out of her crate during the day and she loved being on the gated patio. it’s a little bit older of a property but kept it very clean. would definitely recommend this for any dog families.

- DrewAug 11, 2020The BEST doggie motel in Myrtle Beach!
Learned the hard way that most of the “pet friendly“ hotels in Myrtle Beach have a 30 pound weight limit.
That was a huge problem, until I found the Darlington. This place has the absolute kindest staff I have ever met, and a super nice (although a bit older) motel with great rooms, a kitchenette, and nice beds. The place was exceedingly clean, and I would recommend it to anyone who is bringing their furry family member for a beach vacation!
Upon check in, the staff told us that our pup was allowed anywhere that we were, with the exception of the pool (which is fine, nobody likes cleaning dog hair out of a pool). For our pup, this was her first time at a hotel. We brought her crate, and she definitely barked a fair amount while we were out. As much as she barked while we were outside at the pool for the first few hours, there was not one single complaint. This place really does love dogs! (Also want to point out that the Wi-Fi was good enough to support a doggie cam for anybody that likes to keep an eye on their puo from a far, like we do)
A couple of notes, there is not an elevator, but there are only four floors so prepared to do a little bit of walking if you’re staying on the higher levels. For us that was worth it, as the view was spectacular.
The hotel is located a block off the beach, but there is only a parking lot in front of it, so again it has a great view. The location is great, right near lots of restaurants and things to do.
I cannot recommend this place enough, and would give it more stores if I could!
- TamaraJan 14, 2020Exceptionally welcoming folks
We stayed in a ground floor room in January. The owners are personable and welcoming, and very kind to our dogs. We enjoyed long walks. Great space for pups and their people!
- ToniannDec 11, 2019Not as expected
We had high hopes for this place, but upon arrival we realized it wasn’t going to be good. Very old and outdated, the stairs/hallways (outside) were heavily painted and had that outdoor rug on them. The room was clean, but not well maintained. Electrical outlets were coming out of the walls, there wasn’t much storage. There was a broom and some other items in what was supposed to be the closet area. The stove was on when we entered the room. It was also not in the greatest of areas. Several people were being arrested right near the hotel. My family & I didn’t feel comfortable staying there and left within an hour. We found accommodations elsewhere.
- JosephApr 19, 2019So dog friendly! Great location and clean.
We are currently staying here in room 404. There are many dogs in the building but, you'd never guess there were! The dogs are quiet, well mannered and their owners are thoughtful & respectful, The hotel is located within walking dist9of lots of dog friendly eateries. It us 15 minutes from Barefoot Landing. I highly recommend barefoot for eating and shopping as BROADWAY AT THE BEACH IS NOT DOG FRIENDLY IN ANY CAPACITY. The Darlington's rooms have tile floors which makes it easier to keep up with the pet hair and spillage from food bowls.. Our room is spacious with 2 queens and a small efficiency kitchen. My pup has really loved the ocean view balcony and has stood by the door consistently waiting for me to let her out to sunbathe. The pool is immaculately clean! Dogs aren't allowed there but there's a fire pit with chairs and a few nice sitting areas on property to relax with your dog. This place is not a "resort" and doesn't claim to be luxurious. . But, it's been a comfortable, clean, homey place in a great location for us for the last 5 days. The owners and housekeeping staff are so warm, kind and welcoming, we wouldn't stay any where else on our next visit to MB. We don't want to keave!
