    Gallagher's Travels Bar Harbor Motel & Cabins welcomes one pet up to 100 lbs in designated rooms for an additional fee of $35 per night, and two pets up to 100 lbs in designated rooms for $60 per night. Select motel rooms are designated for accommodating pets, and all cabins are pet friendly. Both dogs and cats are allowed, and well-behaved pets may be left unattended in rooms. However, puppies or untrained pets must be crated is left unattended. There is a dog park on the property, and waste bags are available at the front desk. For same day arrivals, please call 877‑411‑3436 to confirm availability of a pet-friendly room.

      Super clean

      Great pet friendly place with dog run out front with doggie bags provided. The room was amazingly clean and everything we needed. Great place, would definitely stay there again.

      Great location

      Super clean & friendly, dog friendly spot! Great location very close to Acadia Hulls Cove entrance. As others have said, small shower but made up with copious hot water & good pressure! No closets and minimal shelves, but good sized rooms. Remember to bring your own hangers. Would definitely stay there again.

      Fantastic

      This is a great little motel reminiscent of motels from the 60s. VERY dog friendly with a small fenced in dog run in front so you can go leash free and give puppy a chance to play. They are incredibly friendly here and they can also offer some great advice on places to hike, kayak, etc.

      The rooms were clean and tidy. We particularly enjoyed the brand new dog park on the front lawn.

      Very hospitable

      Motel was in a great location, clean and comfortable. Sean the owner was very helpful with suggestions and directions. Having our dog with us was not an issue.

      Great location and very accommodating

      We had to quickly change plans on the way to Bar harbor area and I worked with a great BringFido representative who found this little gem of a spot. We were getting in late, so the office “checked us in” and personally called me to let me know what room we were in. Very clean room, it did have a tad of a musty smell but that was quickly overlooked as the rest of the room was perfect. Thank you Gallagher’s it was a great night’s rest to finish our journey.

      Great people, very dog friendly

      Two reasons I didn’t give it five bones. Location wasn’t really close enough to walk to anything and the room was a bit musty smelling (luckily the a/c helped that and it was definitely needed!)

      Friendly and Convenient

      They called ahead to make sure that someone would be around when we arrived and then promptly checked us in. There were many other dogs there as well so was popular with the pups! Location is great being close to the Hull Cove entrance and out of town a bit so not so much traffic. Also, Chart Room and the beach nearby were within walking distance and less busy than the crowded restaurants in Bar Harbor.

      Pros and cons

      On the plus side, EXCEPTIONALLY clean and very, very nice people running this hotel. Doggies are loved and appreciated. On the minus side, no desk, no chair, no hairdryer, tiny shower, fridge freezes everything, and very musty smell that doesn't go away.

      Just what we needed!

      My dog and I had a great stay. The property and room were clean. It felt like a nice and efficient family run business. It was in close proximity to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. They made great suggestions for dining and were available to answer any additional questions I may have. My dog was comfortable and so was I! We will be back!

      I think it’s important to note that during this COVID-19 pandemic this place was extremely clean and the owners wore masks when we interacted. I felt very comfortable and safe!

      Great Stay and Very Affordable

      My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night stay with our 2 rescue dogs. They were very accommodating and the cabin was perfect for a stay at Acadia and only minutes from the park’s entrance and to Bar Harbor! Plenty of area to walk your pups and relax after a busy day site seeing! Thanks again Gallaghers for a great visit and great tips on restaurants in the area!

      Great visit!

      This place was great! Super clean room, very kind and helpful staff. Super convenient location. We were able to bring our golden retriever which is nice because he’s big so some pet friendly motels would not take him. I would highly recommend staying here!
