- VanessaOct 23, 2023Great location
No place to walk dogs. Nice room. Lot of restaurants close by.
- BonnieJun 6, 2023Not suitable for dogs
Very tiny rooms, no place to walk or potty your dog, or even put up a crate in the room. Rainhead shower sends water all over the floor. Terrible TV reception.
- MinaMay 16, 2023Horrible Management
We left early. We were in Flagstaff for my partner's back surgery. On our last day, I went to the store to get him some medicine (one day after his surgery). When I was gone, housekeeping had knocked on the door. When my partner yelled at them to keep the door closed THREE TIMES (as we also had our dog with us) they went ahead and opened the door not a smidge but WIDE OPEN. Well, our dog ran out of the room towards to busy street. The staff did nothing to assist in getting the dog back, seeing CLEARLY that my partner was lying in bed recovering from back surgery.
This caused him to GET UP out of bed, and in terrible pain, go out and try to get our dog back. He had to grab his cane and without even thinking made his way outside near the street to get our dog back. Thank God nothing happened to our dog! However, what we do not know is if this did any permanent damage to my partner's recovery! He got in the room and preceded to throw up he was so nauseated from moving! We left that place EARLY that day and they refuse to give us a refund. The complete indifference from the management and lack of even a simple apology, even after I wrote them an email explaining the situation and asking for a refund. They simply DO NOT CARE. AWFUL.
- DylanApr 6, 2023Get what ya pay for
All in all, this wasn’t a bad stay at all, and the front desk staff I encountered was very nice. The room was clean, shower was hot, had pressure, TV is big, and there was plenty of grass for dog duties. A lot of people complain about the size, but my fiancé and I with our 60 lb border collie, an oversized suitcase, and an XL mountain bike had no issues with the size of the king sized bed room. The only cons was the dog potty area was dimly lit with a yellow LED at night. A bright white light would be a lot better, and more comfortable for solo guests.
- HApr 5, 2023Solid basecamp
Cleanliness 4/5. Location 5/5. Good choice for a no-frills room. Staff was super-nice. While not desirable to some, we (& our senior dogs) like that the rooms are conveniently accessed directly from outdoors. Reasonably well-lit outdoor areas with poop-bags/trash can stations. Presumably as a result of upgrades, the furniture was a bit awkward for the room (fridge smaller than the space provided; bed too large for the room; no convenient electrical outlet on one side of the bed, etc.). That said, the full kitchen was recently updated, we'd rather have the King-sized bed, & there were enough outlets scattered about, so these are only very minor quibbles. Would recommend Hotel Aspen for a quick stopover with or without dogs.
- NikkieJan 6, 2023Got the job done
This place was fine. We stayed here passing through on a cross country trip with our pets. The staff was friendly and our room was clean. If you are just looking for a bed to sleep in and head out early the next morning this place was just fine. The tv in our room didn’t work but we didn’t mind enough to try and get it fixed.
- ChristinaAug 6, 2022Terrible
Hotel was super dirty, front desk gal was super rude, and there was a $25 pet fee on top of way over priced room.. would not stay here again.
- CharlesMay 1, 2022Small Room
Smallest motel room I have ever been in. Door not hanging properly and had to use brute force to open/close. Exterior of building needs updating and the landscape is trash, debris and weeds.
- JamesApr 17, 2022Great stay
The hotel is conveniently located off I-40 and near Old Town. While small, the room was spotlessly clean and tastefully upgraded. Our two dogs were very happy!
- AnitaOct 15, 2021Room was dirty
I reserved this room at the last minute as I was headed into Flagstaff, so my expectations were pretty low. The room was very basic, which was ok, but there was dirt and debris still on the carpet, especially behind the door. The room smelled faintly like kitty litter as well. Nice fridge and microwave in room, and bed was fairly comfortable. Area for pets to do their business in is just a weedy area around hotel, but they did have disposal bags and container, so that was nice. There were a lot of dogs there, so I suspect that this is a popular place and lots of doggy smells. Room was ground floor and noisy, heard every sound outside and on both sides. If you just need a place to rest your head and pets, this is ok, but if you're looking for something relaxing and cleaner, you might want to look a bit further.
- AlexaSep 20, 2021Pretty location, centrally located!
Clean rooms, quiet place, awesome view, and amenities for fuzzy friends. Great value for the price.
- JeanJul 18, 2021Smelly bathroom
The only positive aspect was being able to leave our pets unattended in their crates and courteous front desk staff. The room was not well-maintained and the bathroom smelled moldy. Stayed two nights. Would not come back.
- KarlaJun 29, 2021Disappointing
The room was so small there was no room to put our bags. We were climbing over each other.
- ChristineJun 24, 2021Pet Friendly
The room were small but well appointed.
- KennethMay 1, 2021Good value
Close to downtown but also close to noisy train tracks.
- OMARApr 14, 2021Not worth what I paid
Let me start by saying that I was travelling over Easter weekend. I needed a place to crash with my lab, and this place seemed appealing. Well, I was disappointed. My room was small and old. There was hardly any space to move around in the room. The shower was "renovated," but the rest of the room was dated and worn. There was plenty of "outdoor" space for my pup to do his business. Unfortunately, I don't think what I got was worth the "holiday" price. I would probably stay someplace else next time me and my pooch are passing through Flagstaff.
- DanielaMar 23, 2021It’s ok
This place is fine, just don’t be fooled by the word “suite”. We could barely make our way past the beds to the bathroom the room was so small and crowded. There was an ottoman in the bathroom, I guess that is the “suite” part. Otherwise it was clean and an ok place to grab a nights sleep. We appreciate that there are hotels where you can bring a big dog.
- JillMar 15, 2021Hotel Aspen Inn Suites
Big room, updated. Aside from a loud guest smoking cigars outside our door till 1 am, not bad.
- BrittanyMar 8, 2020Overpriced For What It Is...
Not as nice, clean, or modern as the motel 6's in the area. Overpriced for a run down and thin walled motel room. Breakfast was good
- KristinJan 19, 2020Great location, super value.
Beds were comfortable, room had a big TV, microwave and refrigerator. Excellent value for the money. Lots of places to walk the dog up the hill. Beware: it appears very few people pick up their dog poop. This was a great value for the money. All surfaces you were nearly come into contact with were clean. Giving it four stars only because of the windowsills and some other out-of-the-way places were dirty.
- MitchJan 10, 2020Nice for a Night or Two
Our second time as guests at this hotel. For a winter visit, not so great for the Lab -- all the green area was covered with ice. But, I recall there's a nice trail above the hotel that is quite pleasant in warmer months for a stroll with the doggie. The room seemed spruced up and had an enormous television set -- like a 50 incher. The rate includes a full breakfast that is quite above the average for this price point. Lastly, yes, there is train noise -- but that applies to all of Flagstaff -- don't see how you get around it.
- TomJan 1, 2020Great App
We went on a 2600 mile road trip over Christmas and the BringFido team helped along the way finding us hotels that would take our 2 dogs. We never once booked until 6 hours before arrival because of weather we never knew where we would be staying. Twice the BringFido team found us the last dog friendly hotel room available. Thank you!
- KorieDec 26, 2019Good place to stay
Room was comfortable, dog friendly, parking easy and close. In a safe neighborhood, lots of space for the dog to pee.
- AlainaNov 13, 2019All you need!
For the price, this place is great! They actually have a pretty good breakfast and it seemed like everyone staying had a dog, its walking distance to all the bars too and right next to the grocery store. We have stayed here before and will stay here again! :)
- DebraOct 19, 2019Nice place, clean, grassy areas for dogs business.
Room is nicely furnished. Grassy areas for the dogs business.
- LindaSep 30, 2019Review
The rooms have been upgraded, but the grounds are full of cigarette butts and broken glass. The breakfast was inedible.
- ElisabethJul 26, 2019Okay Place But Not As Great As Some Of The Reviews
The ratings on this place made me think it is was going to be amazing but pretty basic and they did enforce the pet fee. A lot of other places say they have them and then don’t make you pay. Just okay 🥴
- KathyMore than a year agoCute Route 66 Motel
We loved this hotel and even stayed a third night. Nothing fancy, but clean with an awesome breakfast. The trains didn't bother us, but may bother others. We used this as a base while we visited the Grand Canyon and Sedona.
