    Not the Greatest La Quinta

    Compared with the nearby Clifton, NJ La Quinta we stayed at last year, this one is in desperate need of a face lift. Wyndham has been in the process of updating this recently acquired chain. Some are very good, but this one was dated and badly needs cleanup and repairs.

    Our stay

    I'll start with the staff. They were all so nice and did their best to accommodate our needs. Based on my observations, they're horribly understaffed. The facility was a different story. The equipment in the fitness room didn't work along with the a/c. The pool had far too much chlorine. It could kill any germ just by jumping in. The outside was dirty. Lots of trash lying around. Many of the card readers attached to the exterior doors were broken. What was worse...families staying at the hotel felt it was perfectly fine to hold individual parties at all the exit doors. It was hard to maneuver around them just to get outside. The room was ok at best. Bed was comfortable. Toilet had difficulty flushing. Carpet had multiple stains and burn marks. As for the dogs, a little grassy area was available for their needs.

    Ultimately, the marketing of this hotel fell way short. I feel if you promote a facility with a fitness room, pool and other perks, those items should be available. Ownership should take note and provide a better product. Spend the money to make it right. I feel bad for the staff given their effort to make everyone's stay better.

    Easy Check in, Friendly!

    Nice welcome! Bed was very comfortable. I had a problem with the window. They came within minutes to fix! Would stay again.

    Nice stay

    Dog walking area with bags. Room was clean, and comfy. Beds were doubles, but seemed like slightly large twins. Microwave and refrigerator always a nice thing to have. The outside looked fairly sketchy, not well maintained at all. The road around the one side is not a road at all, but multiple pot holes converging on each other. Bring your earplugs, because this hotel is a stones throw from a Route 80 (A large and busy highway, akin to 95) and the noise level was incredible. Even with all these things, I would likely stay again.

    Needs updating

    This place is in a great location . Fresh clean linens... but is very old and needs updating. Ceiling was peeling...rust stains... lots of parking however potholes everywhere. They need more grass areas for the pups to do their business instead of mulch beds.
