  Comfort and cleanliness

  Staff was friendly. My dog felt at ease and so did I. The room was in great shape -- furniture a-okay, bed felt great, and the bathroom was clean (very important). Breakfast was more than I expected and I appreciated that. Not a lot of grassy area for my dog to go out on but some.

  We asked for a quiet room, and they moved us to room near an unused stairway on the first floor. We could barely hear any roadway or neighbor noise. Our border collie approved. After a restful night, we had a nice breakfast and enjoyed good coffee.

  Would not stay again

  The property has a lot of trash all over. Lots of people just hanging out in the parking lot after dark. Room wasn’t bad, but the common areas were dirty. NO HOT water!

  Very nice employees. Room was spotless, quiet. Easy on and off. Dog area is good. We walked around the hotel on the grassy area as well. Will definitely use this hotel in the future.

  Clean rooms. Not tons of green space so walked our dog around the parking lot which had grass on the edges. Quiet. Breakfast ok. A very nice hotel and would stay there again.

  Good amount of grassy area for pet business. Room was clean and fresh smelling. 24 hour coffee in lobby. The location was great, easily accessible, and quiet despite being on a fairly busy road.

  Dog friendly hotel

  We where on on a 14 hour road trip to visit family. Stopped in Harrisburg PA to break up the trip. Used the BringFido app to make our reservation at La Quinta. Using the app was easy and check in was smooth. There are grassy areas around the hotel where our dog was able to do his business. The room was adequate for our short overnight stay. There is a restaurant across the street to grab a bite to eat. Will contemplate staying here upon our return.

  The staff is the most unfriendly I have ever encountered. The window in our first floor room was unlocked and partially open with no screen. The room was not very clean. I would not stay here again. We had booked a non refundable rate or I would have definitely checked out.

  Has everything we need for a dog-friendly hotel on the way from NH to VA. Great restaurant close by (Gilligan’s). Clean place and friendly staff. This will be a regular stop for us in the future.

  Very cheap and quite clean. Front desk folks were friendly and quick. Free breakfast in morning plus coffee all day. Coffee maker in room. We were out on second floor even though we booked through BringFido but we were close to the side door which luckily was near grassy area. Or maybe it wasn’t luck and that was their intention. Wonderful bar/restaurant directly across the street. Gillian’s. Hotel is very convenient. Will definitely stay here again.

  Horrible service

  We had no hot water for 2 nights out of 3 and during the ice storm there was nothing put in the parking lot and almost fell several times. At checkout I was told I would be given a 20% discount on the room, but they said since it was booked 3rd party they could not do that.

  Best dog-stay so far (out of 2 hotel bookings). Only strange thing was, we found five ticks in our room (which as dog people we are used to, lol). I guess because it's dog friendly?

  Ok area outside for dogs

  This hotel was mediocre at best. The outside dog area was ok, but they are renovating the hotel so outside is chaos. Also my room was dirty, bathroom floor had hair from previous person, as well as the shower. The bottom of the tub was dark grey from not being cleaned probably in months. Wish I brought shower shoes.

  Manager made sure she assigned us to a room on the first floor just outside access door. Was thoughtful about avoiding elevators and that was a huge bonus.

  Disappointed

  Only employee we saw was young woman outside smoking and went inside ahead of us. She was very nice and helpful…I thought. I asked about where to eat and get a drink. She gave me a list of restaurants and highly recommended a pizza place saying they deliver food and beer to the hotel. She also recommended a great pub across the busy road. We had our dog so called the pizza shop. He asked for the hotel address and informed me it was too far for them to deliver. I said they were recommended by the hotel and that they said we could get food and beer delivered. The man got upset and told me they were a Muslim restaurant and didn’t even have alcohol on their premises. I went to the front desk to tell they woman working their but she was nowhere around. The front desk was vacant and accessible to anyone. I waited for 15 minutes and even called the front desk and no one answered. All while a family and others were arriving to check in. One of the ladies waiting to check in walked around and said she checked the ladies room and couldn’t find anyone.

  I finally went back to my room and had better luck calling the pub across the street for food and they also sold me 2 six packs of beer to take back to the hotel with the food. The hotel smelled and the bed was not properly tucked in, but seemed clean with new sheets. The nightstand had sticky rings on it, so I used Lysol wipes to clean it and then the remote and other areas just in case they hadn’t been properly cleaned. Breakfast was just some English muffins, white bread, packaged mini-muffins and apples. I asked about decaf coffee and was told that one of the urns marked regular coffee was really decaf. I medically can’t have caffeine so I didn’t dare drink it. Areas to walk the dog were 2 spots that were very small and a third spot that was a steep hill. We won’t be staying there again.

  Absolutely the dirtiest nastiest hotel we've ever seen. We were supposed to be there for two nights. Checked out after the first night. Extremely rough crowd and horrible hotel.

  As noted in other reviews, the bedding wasn’t clean but luckily we had read the reviews and brought our own linens. Bathroom was older but functional. The lobby and staircases had dirty floors and the elevator on the first day was filthy. We just used the stairs. Property is located very centrally to all attractions though. Choose wisely and come prepared.

  I’ve had good experiences at La Quintas in the past so this seemed legit. However, when I tried to check in, the person behind the counter had earbuds in (that never came out) and was presumably FaceTiming during my attempted check-in. I say “attempted” because it took over 20 minutes for it to “go through” and/or for her to refresh the page. She may or may not have even been an employee. The room was clean(ish) aside from some hairs on the bedding. The water was warm but never got hot so I couldn’t use the shower. There were multiple cracks in the ceiling and I was worried that the ceiling would cave in at any given moment. The 2 fellow guests that I saw looked kinda sketchy. On the plus side, there was a nice grassy area to do the business and ample poop bags.

  Not all La Quinta’s are the same

  This La Quinta doesn’t meet the quality that we had become accustomed with. We did not feel comfortable with parking our car for the night. The few cars that stayed for the night all huddled near the front door for some sense of security. There was no hot water in the room for a shower in the morning. The hotel is old but shouldn’t be an excuse for being so dirty, especially the carpets in public walkways. There was a strong smell of fresh marijuana in the lobby, not that there’s anything wrong with that. There are restaurants and a gas station across the street.

  my room was dirty and hadn’t been clean, nor had the hallway on our floor. the front desk agent wasn’t wearing a mask when I checked out, nor was he keeping behind the screen at the front desk. I would NOT recommend anyone stay here.

  Not a great first impression

  Check in was very easy. Then the key cards didn't work, so i had to wait in the hall with 2 German Shepherds while my wife went to the desk. The clerk brought new cards, but we then walked into a room that hadn't been cleaned at all, at 7:30 pm. The bed wasn't changed, or made. There were dirty towels in the bathroom. We then had to wait for keys to another room, which had two twin beds instead of a king, which is what we reserved. We were scheduled to stay at the same hotel a few days later on our way back home, but we decided to just drive 13 hours straight home instead of staying there again, even though it was too late to cancel.

  With no breakfast buffet we were next to a McDonald's. Our room was comfortable and the area was quiet. Our room was on the first floor and the outdoor grassy area was easily accessible for our canine family member.

  The outside of the hotel was a little run down, but the room was nice and big and very clean. The potty area was nice sized with a “poop station” well stocked. It was just what we needed.

  Great overnight stay!

  We were greeted by phenomenal staff and given our pet friendly room. It was clean and in a convenient location for taking our fur babies outside. The price was right and we were located near a lot of stores and restaurants. Will stay again in the future.

  Good location but a little dated

  Pros:
  - Location is good, between Harrisburg and Hershey, easy access and parking.
  - Grass patches and bags & trash for dog needs is good.
  - No added fees per dog and no limit on the dog's size.
  - Restaurants & fast food around, accessible by foot, you grab your food in few minutes!
  - Good size room, fridge, coffee maker... and bed (king size) was comfortable.
  Cons:
  - Room was a little dated: water damages/repairs on the ceiling, not see through windows and it smelled cigarette (fire alarm was actually covered with a plastic bag!).
  - Not really clean also: hairs in the bathtub, stained carpet...
  - We were on the 3rd floor, not the best with 2 dogs, but at least we were at the end of the building, with stairs right by, and not so many people passing by our door, so that was a plus.
  - We didn't have any breakfast, probably Covid-19 related so we understand, but still just a hot water and a coffee downstairs would have been cool.
  - Wifi not secured with a password (but free).

  So a honest room for the price, in particular with 2 large dogs for 2 nights (when some hotels around charge you per dog, per night and have restrictions on dog's size).

  Good night’s sleep

  A very comfy bed in a dog-friendly, clean room, which was all we needed. Know when we checked out. Friendly staff! Outside of the hotel doesn’t look like much, and the surrounding area isn’t scenic or anything. But it’s safe and comfy, and that’s all we needed!

  This was a great experience! The room was nice and clean and super comfortable! We travel with our two dogs normally, but had my daughters cat this trip too! They accepted all three pets with no extra charges! We are very happy with this place and will stay here again if we’re in the area!
