- SaraOct 3, 2023Beautiful location and great food!
The location is beautiful! Be prepared for a wait! We went off season in October and it was an hour wait for dinner. They seat in order not by the number in your party. They are good with dogs. The high tops are by the bar and there are regular tables to sit at and those are for the long wait. Our server was awesome we have a very nervous dalmatian who he tried very hard to make friends with, even asking him what he wanted for dinner (if he liked broccoli 🥦 with his chicken and if the chicken should have no seasoning on it and not cooked in butter or oils. Kudos to that!! He knew how close he could push getting to the dog with out freaking him out and stood and talked to us at the table and tried to make friends and learn his story. I can't speak for all of them but I watched a lot of the staff walk by and smile and wave at our boy. Like I said be prepared for a wait it's a popular place but well worth it

We sat out on the patio mid afternoon. We were told during peak hours that there normally is a wait. We felt like it was a tourist place with the service we were given and the food was so so. It was dog friendly with a good view though.
- MelissaMay 31, 2022Great water views, great food, lots of puppy love!
We arrived without reservations and sat at the outdoor waterfront bar for lunch (it was raining and the bar was the driest spot). The bar staff was super friendly and pleasant. Our drinks were strong and delicious (BlackBerry mojitos). We enjoyed the fresh shrimp, scallops, clams, oysters, and fried green tomatoes. They treated our pup like a celebrity with fresh water and so much love💞. We will definitely visit here again!

Definitely puppy friendly. Our waitress was only human aware, but there were a few others that offered water and were puppy friendly. No wait for Friday lunch. Beer battered fish was OK. Blackened shrimp was great.
- SaraMar 31, 2022Dog friendly, great food, strong drinks
the food was great, the drinks were strong, and the staff made sure our pup felt welcome. It does get very busy, so you may want to call ahead. we ended up grabbing a seat at the bar, but we had a great time!

The seafood is fresh and delish! You have to try it. View from deck is nice. This was our best meal by far in Hilton Head. Wait staff and owner are very friendly and service was excellent.

Great location on the water. Large back deck with plenty of dog friendly seating. Waiter brought a personal tub of icy water for each dog.
- MagenMay 3, 2021Sustainable local seafood
Great local seafood with an efficience on sustainability! Big open patio on the dock with table umbrellas at each high top. Very friendly staff who gave our pup lots of attention. Great food

Great atmosphere on water, especially at sunset. We enjoyed seeing dolphins. Food was good; but shrimp and grits was just ok.

Dogs are welcome on the deck! It’s a happening spot. They will bring your pup a bucket of ice water! In regards to the last reviewer who didn’t even eat at Hudson’s... 1. They never take reservations so he is mistaken there which makes me question the authenticity of his review. 2. Yes, dogs are only allowed outside and the seats are barstool height!
- AndyJul 8, 2019Reservations? Check First
We made a reservation and explicity said we had a dog. When we arrived we were told the tables where a dog could be were the "high top" tables and they were a first come, first served" basis. The restaurant was very busy and it was anybody's guess as to how long it might take to get a table. A table that would not be comfortable for us or for your pup. We left so I won't comment on the food and we won't be returning and nor would I recommend the restaurant with this policy.
- TammyJun 2, 2019Touristy, Crowded, Okay
Very crowded, even on a chilly evening. Long waits for seating. High tops for dog seating, which is not ideal. Staff tries, but is completely overwhelmed. Food is decent. Drinks are decent. Not all it’s cracked up to be and a bit ostracizing for pup. Very popular with tourists. Seating is on the dock, where you can see docked shrimp boats. Famous free hush puppies are nice during your waits for service while seated, but very greasy on the tummy. Dogs can get water if you ask, when and if you can get access to a server.
- ErikaJan 3, 2019Great Atmosphere And Food
Stopped here on our post holiday mini vacay. Came for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy(end of December) so we had no problems finding a table by the water. Our waiter was awesome and kind. He brought water out for Cash, a bowl of Hushpuppies and went over their daily specials. Hubby had fresh local peel-n-eat shrimp and I had the blackened shrimp. The Hushpuppies are some of the best I have ever eaten. The blackened shrimp was awesome and hubby said his shrimp were awesome as well. This is definitely one to put on your list.
- MichelleMore than a year agoSuper yummy and very pup friendly!
We went here on our Anniversary trip 2 years ago and loved it so much we plan on it being our first food stop on HHI for our upcoming anniversary trip. Great service, ocean to plate seafood and they’re very welcoming if our 2 shihtzu; providing them with cold water and ear scratches. Can’t wait to go back! Best crab cakes, oysters, shrimp, fish and the list goes on. We stay a while and leave absolutely stuffed. Good cocktails well. Highly recommended!
