We love our big baby, Charlie! He's a bit too attached to us, but we're working on that. He loves to travel with us!

Truly Dog Friendly
Lilah RestaurantNot only are they dog friendly, but they cater to dogs! They have their own special menu and they're welcome inside with you! The food is quite good and the service is friendly. Creative and tasty cocktails and a nice variety of wine and beer. It's right along German street where lots of adorable shops surround it. It's a favorite go-to for us! 🐾
Great food & service
Oak Stone Craft Pizza and BarVery nice patio that is dog friendly . Delicious food, great craft cocktails, and friendly service! Plenty of room for the pups and not too crowded together, so room for pup to relax. It's our go-to when we're in town.
Amazing for dogs and their pups!
Indigo Coastal ShantyVery friendly service! Amazing food! Quaint and very pup friendly deck surrounding an historic live oak tree draped in spanish moss. Generously brought out cool water for my pup and top secret tip, they offer a comp rice & chicken if pup is hungry! If you're anywhere within driving distance, it's definitely worth the drive!
Not All Pet Friendly
Tanger Outlets Hilton HeadBe forewarned, not all stores are pet friendly. You have to find someone to ask and hope they know.
Nice, but beware of gators
Jarvis Creek ParkNice park, especially for bike riding. Beware of gators in and near the pond.
Not Completely Dog Friendly
The Village at WexfordNot all stores are pet friendly and some let you bring your pet in, but have attitude about it.
Okay Option, Plenty Of Space
Captain Woody'sNice that you’re not crowded in here. They’re nice enough to dogs and will bring water if you ask. Food is a bit sub-par and strange, drinks are average. Service is very inconsistent and can be slow. Touristy spot some locals love. Decent option if you’re hungry and just want to eat, relax with your pup and not feel pinned in.
Not As It Seems
Fishcamp on Broad CreekOutside seating is decent, okay for pooch. They’ll bring water if you ask. Popular spot for locals and tourists, so crowded. Service is inconsistent and mostly slow and pretentious. Food and drinks are average and over-priced. Near the water. Decent views. Places to sit
Small But Accommodating
Up the Creek Pub & GrillWe visited for lunch on a chilly afternoon, after a rain. We were seated on a very small outside deck. Service was friendly, but not great attentively. Dog got water, but wasn’t a wonderful environment for him to chill while we ate. Sits near the water, but was a bit buggy. Not the nicest, but food was decent with okay drink options.
Touristy, Crowded, Okay
Hudson's Seafood House on the DocksVery crowded, even on a chilly evening. Long waits for seating. High tops for dog seating, which is not ideal. Staff tries, but is completely overwhelmed. Food is decent. Drinks are decent. Not all it’s cracked up to be and a bit ostracizing for pup. Very popular with tourists. Seating is on the dock, where you can see docked shrimp boats. Famous free hush puppies are nice during your waits for service while seated, but very greasy on the tummy. Dogs can get water if you ask, when and if you can get access to a server.
Great Spot For Pooch To Enjoy
Skull Creek BoathouseWe’ve been here several times with our dog. He is always welcomed, offered and given cold water, and often treats.if not too crowded, it’s nicer. Can get cramped and tight during busy times. Very relaxing when not too busy, right on the water as you watch boats coming in/out of the docks. Covered options available, or open air. Nice Adirondack chairs to sit, relax in after your meal with your pup and relax while you enjoy the views. A bit touristy. Food is actually very good. The fried shrimp is the best we’ve had on the island and their fries are consistently good. Decent happy hour specials. Lots of touristy, fun drink specials. Visit their big gift shop too, in a different building, which is also pup friendly. Best dog friendly place on the island given all factors, IMO. Be sure to snap a pic with your pup in the giant Adirondack chair on the grounds. There are additional restaurants adjacent to Skull Creek that are also dog friendly, but not quite as good.
Not Bad, Not Great
Frosty Frog CafeThis spot is very touristy. Service is decent. Food is okay. Popular frozen drinks are weak and over-priced. Often crowded. Not a comfy hangout for dogs. Okay for a quick stop. They don’t seem equipped to bring pups water, even on hot days. We always bring our own for our dog, just in case.
Lovely, Relaxing Patio
Jane Bistro & BarOn the street side of the popular Shelter Cove shopping center. Nice, relaxing, covered patio. Can be cramped, if busy. Not a lot of space for your pup. They do have some comfy couch seating for patrons. Food is very good and drinks are weak, but good wine, though all is over priced. Service is inconsistent and somewhat pretentious. Some employees enjoy the dogs. Some patrons seem to tolerate dogs only, with a few dog lovers. This is a popular spot for ladies.
Great Brunch With Pup Spot!
The French BakeryWe enjoyed our visit here. They are not jammed in. Nice, relaxing atmosphere for pooch to relax while you dine. This place is in the nice Shelter Cove shopping center and across from some marshes. Lots of people watching and very good food. Service is slow, but good and nice to your dog.
Not Ideal For Dogs
PoseidonNo dogs allowed at their rooftop bar. Okay at the busy, crowded high tops on their lower patio. People are crammed in. Too busy and crowded to have a good experience for your dog. Decent drinks, average food, over-priced and slow service.
Loves Dogs
New York City Pizza Bar RestaurantWe’ve had very positive experiences here with our dog. They bring water, if you ask, in a silver to-go bowl. They also offer treats. Great happy hour from 4-7pm and best pizza on the island, but a bit inconsistent. Service is highly inconsistent and they seem to have trouble getting good workers, but that’s all of Hilton Head. These guys are very dog friendly, they don’t just tolerate their presence to get your money.
Big Outdoor Space
Old Town DispensaryYou can bring your dog and there were lots there. Some local patrons let their dogs wander off leash, which was concerning. Wait for seats on the deck unless you want your dog to lay on the ground concrete pebbles, which was quite uncomfortable. Service is slow, but friendly enough. Food is decent, but not great.
Okay For Dogs
One Hot Mama'sNot a nice outside seating area, kinda’ cramped. No views, no perks for your dog. Food is average, nothing to write home about.
Okay For Dogs
Lagerhead TavernYes, you can bring your dog and sit out on the patio. Food is mediocre and service is horrible. No perks for your dog here. You will get water if you ask. Lots of dirty looks from the locals if you have your dog with you, with an occasional nice dog lover. Staff tolerates the dogs, when you can get service.
Among The Best On The Island
The Crazy CrabThey’re truly friendly to dogs on the patio, which is nice
