I was glad I drove all the way through Gananoque before making the reservation. This is a gem, in the posher area of town, surrounded by historical homes/buildings. Near the wharf. Wonderful staff, DOG FRIENDLY for certain. Goody bag at check-in but my dog was sick so I declined. Unsure of the age of the hotel, but it looked brand new.

This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. My room on the second floor had NO elevator. The (possibly replacement) windows didn’t shut far enough to be locked! My TV didn’t work and the shower drain backed up.

The accommodations were satisfactory for a budget stay, until I went to shower. No water and only cold sink water to clean up. Disappointed.

The folks were great. They are used to pets as half of the 2nd floor seemed to have a dog(s). At check-in, there were pet waivers to sign, but no real issue. The pet charge was $20 (not bad compared to other dog available hotels in the general area). Plus they addressed my dog directly. Plus, Guinness received a dog treat from the front desk staff.
